There are much more factors than that though e.g. Apple desperately want MS Office to be available for the iPad, so MS could use this as a bargaining tool.

OT: I hope MS pays up and Bing becomes the default iOS search engine. I already use Bing as the search engine on my iPhone 5

I think MS should keep Office only for Windows phones, cause its a big selling point for the Windows OS.

Be like the maps all over again. While obviously bing isn't anywhere terrible like the maps where, most people just tend to prefer to stay the same, as you can see big time with iphones. Nothing has changed in their 10+ phones they have released.


That... doesn't make sense. Google makes a lot of money from Apple products. It's in their interest to pay Apple a lot of money to keep the status quo, just as it's in Apple's interest to use Bing to drive up the bidding.

Businesses operate to make money, people. Grudge matches only go so far before companies default to whatever is best for their bottom line.

And it's best for Google's bottom line to do what it takes to remain the iOS default search.

Bing? After those crappy maps, offering a crappy search engine too would be a coherent choice, Google would be wasted and wouldn't be a matching choice.

Apple plans on changing their default search engine to one made by Microsoft?
That does not really make sense to me.

I dislike bing with a passion, it doesn't let me search for some things because they're "not allowed"
Not just porn, lots of other things, fuck you bing, I can search whatever I want.

Lol where did you hear that apple desperately want Office for Ipad? Last I checked microsoft was trying to get a better cut than the usual 30 percent and Apple simply said no. If they desperately wanted MS to release Office they'd say allright.

Bing is terrible I only use it to get free points and iOS needs google at least for the near future after they had to eat crow and allow google maps and navi on the 5 after iOS user complained about apple maps,

It seems in Apple's best interest to go with Bing. I mean the last thing they probably wanna to do is promote the company that pushes Android.

However, I'm not sure how iOS users would feel about that switch, even if they could switch to Google manually.

I've begun using Bing more and more and I've become pretty indifferent. Its basically become a clone. I sometimes forget I'm not on Google.

Also, Bing is hands down better for porn searches. Google just gave Bing an edge. I prefer Bing for checking the news as well.
