i had always wondered if this game was hyped due to being good or due to being one of the few titles also on wiiU. looks like i finally have my answer.

It gets so much coverage because Aliens is so cool :)

But... yes it does feel a lot like the Rebellion AvP game... which was maybe a  two years ago?

Even tough the graphics looked just OK, the fact that they had plenty of time to work on this, and the few nifty trailers they had (and the massive experience Gearbox gained with BiA and Borderlands) I was actually expecting an above 80's average.

Well, it seems it will be even weaker than the last AvP offering. That game was decent, this looks like crap from first impressions. There goes yet another potentially better running, M rated, 3rd party WiiU game down the drain.

I wouldn't say that, Aliens is fantastic, while Aliens 3 while much derided at the time of release is actually a very good movie. Aliens 4, well it's ok and definately the weakest of the lot (though not terrible), I am just grateful they left the cut bits out, which were really really bad (look out for them on the special edition).
