Obviously developing for the Wii U has brought the quality down for EVERYONE ELSE.

Really, though, maybe an Aliens game just can't be good. Like a curse or something. What if they'd just taken Borderlands 2, re-skinned it, and put it on a space ship?

@pokoko .. wow what a surprise it became Nintendos fault.

Played it last night.

Multiplayer is fun.. but feels very much like AvP in that respect.

Single player... how do i put this... its clunky, its corridor, its heavily scripted, character models low res. If you like Aliens, the score will be slightly higher because of it... but for me so far, its a 5-6. Average game just about made ok by it being aliens.

Even though I am not a fan of the wii-u, it has nothing to do with that. I just think this game must have had a very difficult development. It was announced in 2006? or so, and feels a bit like Duke Nukem... that its not what it should/could have been. With Duke its so far down the line that you cannot make massive changes to the game to improve it in the areas you would have expected... Aliens feels like this.

Oh and the VO is too cheesy for my liking.

Don't just go by what one review says, zombiu got bad reviews yet I loved that game

It got some bad reviews, but I wouldn't call 77 on Metacritic bad. It was even nominated for some big awards.

OP: I'll be very surprised if the scores stay in the same range. I was expecting much more.

Decided to watch a walkthrough of this game quick to see what's up.

I tend to do that these days. I will watch a part 1, and if I find myself on say par 4 or farther, then I figure it must be a decent game becuase it hooked me and thus I buy the game.

that's how I do things these days. Figure that way I can't be spoiled, cause I'm just watching from the beginning and it would be same if I played it myself. Also when I get the game, then I also know a big about it and don't get so caught up figuring out any tutorials if any.

Well this game I started not paying attention halfway through the part 1. Didn't watch any further. It's just your stupid typical sci fi shooter. You run around a space ship and instead of killing a variety of aliens you are instead shooting 100's upon 100's of aliens. talk about making the aliens a weak ass monster. I mean in most the movies the entire force is spending the whole movie usually trying ot kill just one or a few at most aliens. Yet this one you shoot it with like 3 bullets and its dead. There are like waves of 10 coming at you and its not trouble at all to kiill them all.

So totally can see this 5/10 score or whatever. I doubt the story is anything riviting or plot twisting. The most plot driven alien movie was that prequal "promethues" and that wasn't even that interesting. Not to mention didn't exactly make sense. They explained things by coming up with unkown unexplained things to explain known things. It was stupid.

I've found over the years to listen less to reviews to be honest with you. Certain sites I visit will rate certain types of games higher, while other games get lots less.

If like a game concept I will generally buy day 1 if its gets 6 or over (on average). And to be honest if i had listened to reviews I would never have purchased Dead Island or Mafia 2... both which were slated by some sites. (Dead Island was one of my favourite games of this gen).

Wow that is pretty bullshit. I thought this game would focus largely on the horror aspect. However, I will watch more of how it turns out to be.

3DS Friend Code: 4553 - 9954 - 4854. Name - David

No surprise seeing that the devs had zero experience doing games with immense atmosphere and depth and had only churned out corridor crawl style fps's.
