Forums - Sales - Ni no Kuni already tops half million units sold (will it reach 2 millions ?)

It deserves every single sale, for me it's the best JRPG this gen.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

What planet are you living on? Around 200k of it's sales are from Japan and it was released there in 2011. Ni no kuni will barely pass one million.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to agree with what seems to be the majority opinion in this thread and say no.

I'm not sure what kind of legs you guys are expecting from this game, but it came out in 2011 in Japan so it's done selling there. There may still be some more to yield from USA & Europe, perhaps even Demon's Souls style legs as Turkish says, but even then - that would only push it to about 1.5 million.

I'm personally thinking it'll settle at some point past 1 million and that will be perfectly acceptable given the fact it's a new IP and a JRPG.

I'd say a 1 mil, maybe 1.3 max, though it's a fantastic game I think it has come too late in the PS3 lifetime to achieve 2 mil in sales

I think, like others, definitely over 1m, but probably not quite to 2m

At the very least, I hope it shows that there is still a market for old fashioned RPGs, now give me some proper turn based jRPGs and I will be delighted

I'm glad this game is doing well, even though it's not my cup of tea.

I see it do Xenoblade numbers of what VGChartz has. At max, it will probably do 1.02 mil.

The first few weeks will be critical, to see if the game has legs in the west. But IMO, getting to 1 mil is already far fetched.

I doubt it, I think the developers would be ecstatic to get a million sales if you said it could reach that tbh.

It seems to be following the same pattern as Xenoblade, apart from maybe slightly lower figures (if you align launches). As sunch, I see 900k-1mil being the upper limit.
