Calm your tits. Just because I'm not a Nintendo fan, it doesn't mean I'm a hater.

I myselef never complained about any sort of waggling controls. Why? Because I never bought a Wii to begin with. The funny thing is that I was so excited when it was first announced. Good thing I did my reserach though. I saw that the technology was just a gimmick.

Now comes Wii U. In my opinion, I say let developers do what they want with the Wii U. If they get ideas to use the Gamepad in a MEANINGFUL way....then do it. If not then don't. There is a Wii U Pro controller for a reason.

Thats what I can tell you: to calm your tits. The wii mote wasn't a gimmick and neither is the pad. Both are great input devises. No more or less gimmicky than duall analogs.

how the fuck are dual analogs gimmicky when they are essential to every game made?

There was gaming way before dual analogs. You do know this? Gimmick is not defined by necessity.

i meant every game being made now, well about 99% of them anyways

you been here long enough to know you get banned for calling people a troll. and second of all the UI is made after they decided on the hardware, not the other way around, geez.

I'm not calling you a troll, I am disagreeing with YOUR argument where you claim to not be trolling in your opening post.

just because you dont agree with an opinion and dont like it doesnt become trolling. if you look at the poll 93 people voted yes, does that mean they are trolling? and also if you read any of my posts replying to other users you would have seen that i clearly am not trolling and i am just voicing a logical opinion

Your goal is only to irritate other people who post on this board. There is nothing productive about your post, nor is your 'opinion' drawn from anything based in reality. Plus YOU are the one who began the thread with "I'm not trolling, but..." It's thge same as when people start off a sentence by saying "I'm not racist, but..."

no, its not my goal and thats clearly obvious in everything i said in this thread. i had conversations with others and i didnt go and "troll them". there where no flame wars started and there was no trolling in this thread.

every company is releasing what they release because they had no better idea. we would also have another ps3 and 360 if those companies would have a better idea but the best idea they could think about was ps3 and 360.

i don't think they thought "uhh man we have no idea, gamepad is not great but better as nothing", i think they thought "we have those hundred concepts and that is the best" or so.

maybe the idea was really bad or maybe awesome but i think nintendo really liked it.

heck im just gonna go out and say it, the only reason i think the nintendo made the WiiU game pad is because they couldnt come up with any other better idea. also for those who think im trolling or want to troll them selfs please leave, im being serious with my point and would honestly like to see what other people think.

Nintendo wanted to repeat the success they had with the Wii by making something new but couldnt come up with nothing. so they just slapped a touch screen on a regular controller and just tried to hype it as the next big thing. i honestly believe this. it just seems like they wanted to differentiate them self from sony and ms and they could only come up with this idea. what do you guys and gals think?

Edit : what im trying to say is that nintendo tried to make something new and fresh like the Wii remote with the WiiU, but couldnt and just went with the touch screen because they thought of nothing better

The amount of ignorance on the gaming sites lately is pathetic.  Do you really believe that Nintendo just throw a screen on their controller because they couldn't think of anything else to do?!?  or, could it be that the very creative minds (far more than anyone here) at Nintendo have learned a lot from the success of the DS and thought that it would be a natural evolution of the home console to have a touch screen controller.  I have all of the current systems and think that the Game Pad controller is excellent. As the system matures, the use of the Game Pad will only improve.

Do the authors of these articles really have nothing better to do than bash products from companies that they dislike?  These articles say more about the authors than the products that they bash.

Stop hating and start playing.

this is my opinion, not an gaming site or article. and @bolded, Yes. it wouldnt be the first time a big company just took an already existing idea and called new and innovative.

If Nintendo didn't have a better idea, wouldn't they just release a standard controller like the non-original gamecompanies Microsoft and Sony?

Nope, Nintendo said it themselves they wanted both the gamers and the casuals unlike the Wii which was basically all casual. They also wanted to tap into the tablet/cellphone market which was tearing into DS sales.

That may be an option of the pad, but it wasn't the reason they created it. They wanted a pad for the wii but it wasn't possible cost wise. There was no tablet market back then.

They have no idea how to market the Wii U to casuals and they've admitted they've been having problems with it. The Wii U is kind of a play first and see how it is system.

I don't understand. Nintendo made the Wii Remote because they couldn't come up with anything better. Any company ever did anything they ever did because they couldn't come up with anything any better,

So yes, Nintendo made the gamepad because they couldn't come up with anything better.

They want tablet owners to evolve using a tablet controller, but if they dont give a crap about gaming its all for naught.

Really? Dual analog sticks are essential to "every game made?"

What planet are you from?

They pretty much are. Use an analog stick to move, and the other to control the camera. Now, if a game doesn't allow one or both of these things....then that's a totally different discussion.
