heck im just gonna go out and say it, the only reason i think the nintendo made the WiiU game pad is because they couldnt come up with any other better idea. also for those who think im trolling or want to troll them selfs please leave, im being serious with my point and would honestly like to see what other people think.

Nintendo wanted to repeat the success they had with the Wii by making something new but couldnt come up with nothing. so they just slapped a touch screen on a regular controller and just tried to hype it as the next big thing. i honestly believe this. it just seems like they wanted to differentiate them self from sony and ms and they could only come up with this idea. what do you guys and gals think?

Edit : what im trying to say is that nintendo tried to make something new and fresh like the Wii remote with the WiiU, but couldnt and just went with the touch screen because they thought of nothing better

Of course you're trolling, the only purpose of this post is because you are attempting to be a Keyboard Warrior Crusader for Sony - it is pretty obvious considering you are advertising Sony games in your signature.

The entire Wii U interface surrounds the the Gamepad. If they had just "slapped a touch screen on a regular controller and tried to hype it as the next big thing" then the OS and its interface would have been shaped very differently.

you been here long enough to know you get banned for calling people a troll. and second of all the UI is made after they decided on the hardware, not the other way around, geez.

Calm your tits. Just because I'm not a Nintendo fan, it doesn't mean I'm a hater.

I myselef never complained about any sort of waggling controls. Why? Because I never bought a Wii to begin with. The funny thing is that I was so excited when it was first announced. Good thing I did my reserach though. I saw that the technology was just a gimmick.

Now comes Wii U. In my opinion, I say let developers do what they want with the Wii U. If they get ideas to use the Gamepad in a MEANINGFUL way....then do it. If not then don't. There is a Wii U Pro controller for a reason.

Thats what I can tell you: to calm your tits. The wii mote wasn't a gimmick and neither is the pad. Both are great input devises. No more or less gimmicky than duall analogs.

how the fuck are dual analogs gimmicky when they are essential to every game made?

I'm not calling you a troll, I am disagreeing with YOUR argument where you claim to not be trolling in your opening post.

just because you dont agree with an opinion and dont like it doesnt become trolling. if you look at the poll 93 people voted yes, does that mean they are trolling? and also if you read any of my posts replying to other users you would have seen that i clearly am not trolling and i am just voicing a logical opinion

Really? Dual analog sticks are essential to "every game made?"

The wii U gamepad is a straight up evolution of a traditional gamepad. Its like saying sony only added a 2nd analoge stick to the Vita because they couldn't come up with anything better. The only thing to pit against the controller is its form factor, but in terms of input and gameplay functionality it is the future and Microsoft and sony will follow in one way or the other.

If they could have attached a more gimmicky yet sellable feature to the system, then they would have. So in that sense you are probably right. I always thought there was the possibility that they were planning full body tracking for the Wii 2 but when microsoft revealed kinect they opted to innovate in a different area which wouldn't have them compete or look like a copy cat. but the current outcome is whats best for nintendo fans IMO. They just should have included more power in system and them its selling point would be +New control+next gen 1st games+Next gen 3rd games. The control alone is not enough to sell the system

Your goal is only to irritate other people who post on this board. There is nothing productive about your post, nor is your 'opinion' drawn from anything based in reality. Plus YOU are the one who began the thread with "I'm not trolling, but..." It's thge same as when people start off a sentence by saying "I'm not racist, but..."

There was gaming way before dual analogs. You do know this? Gimmick is not defined by necessity.
