Forums - Gaming - Double Fine Adventure console-exclusive to Ouya

Double Fine Adventure will come to just one console during its launch window – the Android-based, crowd-funded Ouya, according to CEO Julie Uhrman. Uhrman made the announcement during a talk at DICE Summit 2013, as reported by Joystiq. Kotaku later clarified that the announcement didn’t mention whether the game would debut simultaneously or even ahead of time on PC, Mac and Linux, as suggested in its record-breaking Kickstarter campaign. It also didn’t rule out the possibility of coming to other consoles later on. Double Fine Adventure is a fitting release for Ouya; the Tim Schafer project is credited with beginning the Kickstarter movement which dominated news during 2012, and Ouya itself was Kickstarted for over $8 million. In addition to Double Fine Adventure, the developer is bringing existing titles The Cave and Reds to Ouya. Meanwhile, Verse is working on two titles for the new console; the studio is led by Paul Bettner, who created the phenomenally popular Words With Friends. “Ouya and Verse are nothing less than The Return Of Console Gaming. The last big wave was mobile. Words With Friends is the most played game across all mobile platforms,” Bettner. said “And yet I believe we’re about to see another disruption even bigger than this last. Gamers want the App Store in their living room. Ouya will be the first to deliver it, and it’s going to change everything. Again.” Source: http://www.vg247.com/2013/02/07/double-fine-adventure-to-be-console-exclusive-to-ouya-at-launch/

Sorry for the wall of text but I can't format anything for some reason...

Just give me Psychonauts 2 and I'll be happy.

For those that haven't heard of this before, here is the kickstarter: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/66710809/double-fine-adventure

Of course it is coming to Ouya and not any other console! This is a very very small budget game that was designed for PC.

It could be a xbox live, PSN, Nintendo eshop or a Steam Greenlight game. There are multiple choices other than the Ouya.

IKR?!

Tim Shafer is overrated, people don't want to admit it.

"During the celebratory livestream, Double Fine boss Tim Schafer promised the game will be “ten times as good as Grim Fandango”, one of his most celebrated releases." Impossible!

The game earned 3.3 million on kickstarter, and it's only coming to platforms that are open and free to publish on (Windows, Mac, Linux, & Ouya). With that budget going straight towards making the game it might end up being not to bad, or dare I say, good.
