The NeoGaf website looks so bland and boring, I can't stand it. VGChartz has some color whereas Gaf is just full of grey. I can't stay on that website for longer than 5 minutes cause I'll fall asleep if I do.

Also last time I went there everyone was excessively picture quoting. It happens here on occasion but most of us moderate quote trees enough that we delete pictures when quoting picture posts as habit.

I've tried joining neogaf but they won't accept my email and I'm not going out of my way to create one they will. Neogaf seems to work on reputation, more people claiming to be this person or that person who works for this company or that company. Not sure if it is true, but they get more recognition for it.

Hotmail is not accepted that's the reason for me don't have a account too lol... there are a time GAF accepted Hotmail and I created a account but if you don't post for some time they delete your account.... sad.

They accepted hotmail? I know from the old gaming age boards they only accept work, isp or college email. I don't understand why they blocked this country's biggest isp tho.

I wish vgc had the layout of gaf, it looks very clean, posts stretch across the entire screen, there are no sigs, the board has only 2 sections: gaming and offtopic, resulting in threads going real fast. On vgc if the thread is not in the Hot Topics section anymore it dies.

 

@mods: what forum software does vgc use?

You can turn sigs off on VGC

When I visited Neogaf, I did not know what to do. Everything was a fest of clutter. For that reason, I stopped visiting that forum, except for when someone linked a thread from there, here.

Neogaf is pretty great. People there actually want to talk about games.

It's also pretty obvious that there are less trolls/flaming going on there than here.

People also generally seem to know more about shit there...anyways.

I like the character of Vgchartz more though

Another thing about the GAF threads... you can't create a new thread without fact/info about that... so the first talk about any subject starts in the previous thread then after the first fact are confirmed or out the new thread about is created.

The Japan sales are talked in the last Japan sales thread then when the MC numbers are out the new thread is created... same for NPD... the discussion about everything related to NPD is done in the Prediction NPD thread even the fist twitters numbers... after the software graph is out the new NPD thread is created.

So the best part of the GAF is the random comments in the threads and not the threads itself... there are leaks in everyplace.

You have to really be dedicated to the forum to GAF get GREAT...
