Forums - Gaming - Why do you Love/Hate Nintendo?

Now I'm bored of this, will update later, going to play....either Zelda or FallOut.

Love -
- Many games featuring high levels of creativity. Even a "stagnant" Nintendo game like New Super Mario Bros. 2 is chock full of clever level design.
- Going in line with the first point, nobody makes sequels quite like Nintendo. They have the ability to turn winning formulas into long-running, relevant franchises that typically maintain a fair amount of quality with or without major changes.
- Wonderful roster of first party developers with a wide range of abilities such as Retro Studios, several internal teams, Game Freak, Intelligent Systems, and Monolith Soft.
- At least once every home console generation, Nintendo releases a game that blows my mind and makes me rethink my stance on certain aspects of game design. Past winners: Xenoblade Chronicles, Metroid Prime, Ocarina of Time, Super Mario RPG, and Super Mario Bros. 3.
- I can usually afford Nintendo hardware within a year of release.
- The DS, which is a niche-filling beast.
- Nintendo games look beautiful. HD or no HD, I'm not usually one to critique Nintendo's art style choices.

Do not love -
- Wii, until I eventually caved and bought one back in 2011.
- New IP focus is mainly on safe bets like downloadable titles or simply having new ideas applied to existing brands. Nothing particularly risky or expensive until very recently, I see.
- Tends to hype up the innovative factors of their systems, but hardly uses these features to the fullest extent.
- Nintendo is taking too long to unify its online strategy, leading to much inconvenience.
- Nintendo's ongoing quest for accessibility has led to occasional annoyances.

I used to be one of those dumb kids. I'm a convert brought by the Wii.

Oh god, your sig is hilarious.

i basically love them because of the superb 1st party offering, but affordable prices and reliability help a lot
plus they rule handheld sector with iron fist, which i love too ;)

The only thing i dont like about them is that they try to cater to everyone, including the uber disgusting 'hardcore' gamer

I love Nintendo because they have great games, great consoles and handhelds. And some of my all time favorite video game franchises are on Nintendo consoles.

There isn't really anything that I dislike about Nintendo.

Like:
-They offer the best local multiplayer experience, by a long shot.
-They produce many of the best IPs of the industry.
-Their games are the state of the art in terms of game design.
-They create unique controllers.
Don't like:
-Lately, many of their single player games have become too easy.
-They focus too much on Mario, Zelda and Pokemon.
-Their home consoles don't offer any multimedia capabilities.
-In terms of online gaming and services, they are still too weak.
