Forums - Gaming - Why do you Love/Hate Nintendo?

What i love about Nintendo: Great marketing and product development. Focuses on diferentiating their products. Also like that their first-party games are strong in quality, overall the strongest first party line-up. Free online is pretty good aswell, but not widespread enough yet.
What i hate: How secretive they can be, the only reveal games on a 6 month basis policy. I believe that was very hurtful for the Wii U.

I feel indifferent about them, my love for them faded away with the Gamecube.

I already gave enough reasons why I love/Hate all 3 consoles, but I would actually say that this could also be a fault for Sony. Sony often announces games a long time before release, sometimes even half a decade before release (e.g. The Last Guardian).

Sony and Nintendo both suffer from announcing games too soon to launch, and too far down the road (Golden Sun 3[DS] was announced as a Gamecube Project in 2004, then it moved to Wii, then to DS, and finally released 7 years later).

Microsoft is the only one who is consistant, they usually release big games within 1-2 years of announcement, and that's a perfect window to build hype.

i neither love or hate them

but i liked them very much during n64 times(best gaming period ever
mario 64
dc 64
1080
wave racer
iss64
ki
etc etc

I still liked them in the gamecube times,
but since than they simply stopped producing great games(f zero,ki) and no new great ip's since pikmin.
DS horrible graphics, wii also(and after buying my first lcd tv wii games looked even worser)
low tech 3ds,low tech Meh U.
Instead of creating new ip's wasting money to make monster hunter and dragon quest exclusiv.Making them exclusiv=making them ugly because of nintendo lowtech.I don't mind whether those games are released on nintendo systems or not but I want to have a choice to play them with great graphics on other systems or ugly graphics on a nintendo system.

so do you admit you are a graphic whore?

The only right answer to all these love/hate company questions is the same for all:
Because I'm a fanboy.

couldn't say it any better myself!

Likes:

+ Obviously their quality games, though I contend that oldschool Nintendo is far superior to modern Nintendo. Yet, modern Nintendo is still much better than most gaming out there nowadays.

+ Pushing the boundaries with ways to play games and hardware innovations.

+ Reliable, and cheap hardware

+ Mario

Dislikes:

- Stubborness, especially as of late. I feel like sometimes instead of adapting to the market, they try to get the market to buy into what THEY want.

- Poor online system

- low on horsepower, which I don't mind so much, but at least make the games cheaper. I also think Wii U needs to be AT LEAST $50 cheaper.

- Delays

- NOAs conservatism towards releasing Japanese releases in America.

- Even though I contradict myself a bit here using their innovation as a plus, they have been overdoing it lately. They need to focus more on the games and less on the hardware.

- Lack of new IPs.
