Forums - Sony - Prediction: Sony to make the biggest comeback in entertainment industry history

Gaikai will be important for the PS5, when most people actually have internet fast enough to properly use it. Also, for the "biggest" comeback in history Sony would have to surpass the PS2, no way in hell. Let's all just wait until the console is properly announced, goddamit. All this hype without any solid information is just annoying...

Shouldnt you be making this thread in about 2 years when everyone is forgotten about Lady Gaga? "Lady Gaga to make the biggest comeback in entertainment history"??

No, because she is still on her completely sold out world tour, but in her american leg.. and she's releasing an album this year..

OT:

I mean Sony as a company.. not just as a console maker.. I wouldn't expect the PS next to put them back to 75 plus percent marketshare

Sony will have to try REALLY hard to outdo Nintendo's comeback with Wii and DS. Don't forget, Nintendo came from really far away after gamecube. They went straight to the top, a remarkable feat. Can Sony make a bigger comeback? It's to early to make such predictions, they would have to move mountains to get back were they once were.

Think for yourself, question authority

You can stream HD movies with a 6mbps connnection on netflix, and you can stream games with an 8mbps connection on onlive.. there shouldn't be a problem streaming games next year onto the next playstation.. considering most people have upped to a broadband connection in the U.S at least

I do not believe that is a valid explenation. As you said a lot of people got this, but that does not mean everyone. A lot of gamers would feel that they had been "shitted" on. Why not just give them memory intead, so that you would not have to have this seperation. I agree that the ps5 will take good advantage of it though, but by then microsoft will surely be ready.

Numbers say otherwise...The average bandwidth globally is 2.6mbps, with the U.S only being 6.7mbps (And the U.S is on number 12 globally). With an annual change of 0.3mbps (aprox.) most people on the U.S alone won't be able to play cloud gaming for a very long time.
