I guess it's possible, but I think the Wii U is going to see a much bigger impact from pricecuts than the Vita will.

Thanks, now you're the... there's too many to count. That's how ridiculous this has gotten.

It did help the GC massively; without them it would have been Dreamcasted.
looking at the poll now, obviously psv wont outsell Wii U! imo its kind of sad to think vita would outsell wii u, but hey to each their own

It could be, but you forget one thing : USA and Japan are Nintendo territory.
You can have 5 awesome game on Vita and just two on Wii U, if these games are Nintendo game like Mario Kart or Mario 3D or Animal Crossing, Wii U win, its sad but its the market reality.
Japan hates vita, as the 360, stupid and sad
Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:
PS4: 17m XB1: 10m WiiU: 10m Vita: 10m
I think it's absolutely possible. Wii U will end up selling no more than 40-45 million. People predicting 70 million for Wii U must be crazy! We can already see that the casuals have moved on to tablets and don't care about consoles anymore. That's why Nintendo is doing its best to promote games like X and Bayo 2. They want core gamers to return to their console.
I think that we will know the answer to this question this Christmas. We will already know how the market reacts to the new wave of Vita games (Killzone, Soul Sacrifice, Tearaway, etc.), we'll see if the sales finally pick up. We will also see how Wii U sales react to newly released games in the course of the year and how big of a blow the release of PS4 and new X-box deals.
Most of you guys were so certain that Wii U would get ahead of Vita in a matter of weeks when it comes to hardware sales. So far there is no sign of this thing happening, as both consoles are brothers in doom. What would you say should Wii U finish 2013 below Vita in total sales?
Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!
My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/
My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

That's not totally true. USA is MS territory. There is no way in hell that Wii U sells more than the next X-box in NA. When it comes to Japan, it really doesn't matter, cause it's just a very small market. Europe is much more important here than Japan and so far Europe hates Wii U and likes Vita the most of all regions. Yes, Japan is the most important market when it comes to handhelds, but when it comes to home consoles, it's on the same level as "the rest of the world". So really nothing impressive. Wii sold 12.7 million, PS3 sold 9 million - really not that much. Vita is already at 1.16 million in Japan, even though it hasn't got any Japan-oriented games thus far - but these games are coming! Japan doesn't hate Vita, Famitsu's poll showed that it's the most desired console, it just need some games targeted at them. Some Japanese developers have recently released reports saying that all the copies of their Vita games were sold out and that digital sales were surpassing their expectations, so there is life in Vita in Japan. It will struggle more dur to MH, DQ and RE going to 3DS, but I hope they find a way somehow.
In Japan even a struggling handheld can sell more than an extremely successful home console. It's just the way that market works.

Well this is how I see it, the Wii U only has like two games that are heavy hitters. BUT will get more in the coming Winter seasons. Vita's been out for about a year and still doesn't have any heavy hitters and likely never will. Not to mention Wii U is at 3Million and vita's only at about 5 Million and Vita's been out for WAY longer. I do think Vita will start to sell better if Sony just dropped the price by $50, as in it's current state, it's competing with the cheaper, more gimmicky and more established handheld that is the 3DS.
Just my opinion though. =P

I make bad threads.
SSB really went downhill after Melee....
