Well as an owner of both, I actually agree with you. For comparison's sake I'll compare Vita's launch verse Wii U's launch from a consumer's standpoint.

Vita:

I got my Vita February 15th as part of the $350 pre-launch bundle. It included 4 gb memory, Little Deviants, and a case. Also bought Uncharted Golden Abyss. As an Uncharted fan I loved it to death even though most people only liked it. Because of that I'll act like it was only an ok game, for the sake of being fair. A couple weeks later I bought a 32gb card, wipeout, and a few PSN games. Loved it all, it was great. Then came the drought till Resistance where I didn't buy a single game. Heck I didn't touch my Vita too much during that time. After the drought though more games started coming and it became great again.

Wii U:

Oh I'm not really sure why I bought my Wii U. Unlike my Vita I wasn't counting down the seconds till it was in my hands. A week before Christmas I saw a deluxe edition and just spontaneously bought it along with NSMBU and Zombiu. Turns out I actually really liked it. I do have to admit something though; this was the first time in my life I've ever really played 2D Mario. To be honest it's over rated and 3D Mario is a million times better. After the first couple of levels it became a chore to play instead of a treat. Right now I'm stuck in that Boo water ghost ship and haven't touched it for weeks. ZombiU was a lot better but it's just a normal Zombie game. I enjoy it but again I haven't touched it for weeks. Dieing and having to restart so far away makes me lose all desire to keep playing. Nintendoland is my favorite. I don't specifically love any of the games but I really have a desire to unlock everything. That Planko game is addicting and keeps bringing me back. Well, maybe once a week back. My Wii U is right next to my PS3 so more often then not I find myself playing it again. I don't plan on buying another Wii U game till Pikman 3.

If you bothered to read that, good for you. Now I'll get on topic ;)

The Wii U will never outsell the Vita. Thinking the opposite is only the result of trying to reflect last gen Nintendo onto current Sony and its desperate situation.

i read wat you wrote, so dont wrry lol, just want to make things clear... Are you implying that Wii U will never outsell Vita? Just Asking

I think I flat out said that in the end. Could be wrong.

This has to be a joke. An offensive one; PSV was lucky to outsell N-Gage.

conversely, your statement is neither offensive or a joke

Pass that good stuff Joe :P

Perhaps so.

The Vita will need healthy third party support. And a price cut.

Sony can assure this on Feb 20.

I 100% disagree with that.  There's a much higher chance that the Wii U will outsell the Vita considering how close the sales are with the Vita being nearly a year older than the Wii U.  The PS Vita had nearly a year for game releases and it still hasn't started selling.  The Wii U hasn't even gotten the chance to even release all of its launch window games, and it is also getting a Mario Kart, 3D Mario, new Zelda and Zelda remake, a possible Metroid/Donkey Kong game, a Fire Emblem/SMT crossover game (Japan will probably eat it up), a Yoshi game, A Super Smash Bros game, a redesign is imminent, software upgrades soon, and much more to be announced and things I haven't listed.  All of those games can make up a LOT of sales.  Just look at what some similar games did for the 3DS.

What does the PS Vita have?  Nothing nearly as big as those, and while there still are things to boost its sales, the chances are way lower for the Vita to come out with something to outdo what we know is coming for the Wii U.

The fact that the Wii U has no next-gen competitors at the moment is a point in its favor. It has the next 9 months to build up momentum before Sony and/or Microsoft's next console launches. The Vita already has little hope of escaping from the shadow of its competition. By the time the other 8th-gen home consoles launch, Wii U will probably already have Wind Waker HD, 3D Mario, and Mario Kart. Possibly Bayonetta 2, probably Yoshi's Epic Yarn. Its services will be more developed than they are now. Potential customers will be faced with a choice between a buggy new console with an unimpressive launch line-up and a less expensive console with a decent established library that has worked out its kinks. Personally, I like Wii U's chances.

As other people have pointed out almost all the games you mentioned didn't help gamecube that much. I remember when 2d mario was selling amazing on wii, people kept saying that all wiiu needs is a 2d mario, What WiiU actually needs is some kind of innovation/gimmick like motion controlers or Kinect. It is highly likely that WiiU will do 5 times better than vita, but that doesn't change the fact that such games are not the reason.

Just like the vita launch, I remember certain member saying that vita/wiiu had the best launch in terms of game ever released. After their not so good sales, they started back-tracking saying wait for the games to come.

Look at the poll results. Your prediction obviously sucks.

Yes they did; they kept it on the market. Without Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Zelda, and Metroid the Gamecube may well have followed the Dreamcast.

Granted the Vita is outselling WiiU in Europe lol, but WiiU is getting better worldwide sales. A 2 month old console against one thats been on the market for around a year or so, and the gap is down to around a million. Sorry Vita fans, its a great piece of kit, but its Sonys equivilant of the GameCube in terms of sales.
