Guys... it's not me saying the Q3 results is not bad... it's the market... I don't need answer for that because I have no knowledge about that.

- Half a billion op profit
- Game profitable

Compared to last year results... you can't call that bad.

As mentioned previously, the market is not open to react to the following reacts.

The situation is dire. Furthermore, judging by Nikkei reports that the PS4 will launch at over 400$, thus effectively catering to more 'high-end' consumers, Sony is again in the same situation as the PS3, a money losing business. Expect more losses in the gaming division.

But game division is profiting...

The Vita is already lost. Left it too late to do anything significant.

It needed a big game. Monster Hunter. Gran Turismo. GTA. It needed at least ONE big game. Sony fucked up. Its probably a pretty big money drain when you look at the advertising. It got a lot of media attention in that last Quarter... Wasted money on a product that simply isnt competing.

Im surprised at the loss. Expected a small profit.

Also surprised that the PS3 is under by ~700k. Unless Sony overshipped it of course.

So what do you think the PS2+PS3 ratio is? Under or over a million for ps2?

That's all depends what the real PS3 numbers...

74.0m = 2.0m on shelves
74.5m = 2.5m on shelves
75.0m = 3.0m on shelves

700k unders is conservative... if you use the same ratio PS3:PS2 sales from the last year then the PS3 reached 75m... that's over 1 million undertracked.

I know by Nintendo PS3 is under ~400k in Europe.

Last year was 0.9m... I'm guessing 0.8m for this year.

Yes.... I said ''expect more losses in the gaming division'' - I do not state that they are not profitable currently in that department. The PS3 was a money losing business until very recently and it seems that PS4 is gearing towards the same outcome; hence my statement of expect more losses in the gaming division.

So this gives +-6m for PS3? Not a bad drop yoy. So how much does this put the ps3 at? Exactly 75m?

74-75m

My pessimists and optimistics estimates... in any case undertracked.
