the EU and JAP snes was a solid machine

but tbh when i traded in my Wii a good few months ago, when i cleaned it out to take it for trade in, i couldnt help thinking this is one hell of a well made console. much better made than a ps3 and 360. its a complete solid and well made console bar the gamecube ports flap

yeah i remember when xplay put the xbox ps2 and gamecube through some tests like dropping onto concrete from 2 stories up and smashing it with a hammer. The gamecube was the only console that survived. the super nintendo,regular nintendo and genesis are very well built too they have lasted the test of time.

any console with a disk tray is hard to place. my PS2 fail 10x before it stopped working/reading disk.

the GC, N64, and PS1 are likely the most durable.

I agree any disc-based system will be defeated by any cartridge based system, the GameCube really is the exception. I'm neither a 'young ass kid' nor a fanboy (but have preference ) and still chose GameCube.

It's nowhere near my favorite system and I actually agree with Jumpin for the most part, but experience shows that if it is anything, it's extremely well built and reliable. My 1982 Atari 2600 and my 1980 Odyssey 2 (Videopac G7000, but the US name is ODY2) both still work perfectly as do all my consoles for that matter, but I wouldn't dare to throw them against the wall.

Case in point, GameCube versus floor: GameCube 1 - Floor 0; massive damage to floorboards, no scratch to GameCube.

Gamecube is as tough as old boots, in fact by holding it by its handle its a perfect weapon to defend yourself with :D

I reckon ps2. I had mine for 8 years. dropped it a few times and never had a problem with it, then sold it so probably going strong today still.

Seeing as I haven't owned any Nintendo consoles, it would have to be the original Xbox. That thing was a beast.

The funny thing about that is that they said NOT to do that, but you know everyone did.  

Gamecube clearly is the winner here. I heard it's made by the same people who make Nokia phones.
