Isn't Xenoblade still part of the Xeno-IP though? Not a direct sequel sure but still part of a series.

ehh, I'd put it in the same category as bioshock very iffy. I heard it wasn't even going to be called xeno-bleh and the team decided to later name it that because of the director or something. Imo it's almost a polar opposite, of xenosaga.

And if it is related tp other xeno games it wouldn't be on my list because then it would not be a new IP. So it's not on my list either way.

Honorable mentions:

Bioshock (Haven't played 2 but looking forward to Infinite. The amount of polish and detail is astonishing.
Portal - 1st was cool but 2nd stole the show. I don't think there will be third because Valve and 3...
Wii Sports - Looks okay but plays so well and generates fun in the brain.
Alan Wake - It is a remedy game. They make amazing games with some of the best dialogue and atmosphere.
Modern Warfare: For good or bad it changed the way multiplayer shooters are played.

The last one was pretty much a toss-up, but Gears is a pretty good game ( haven't really played any of the sequels) and definitely influential and I wanted to include only IPs that have become series, so that eliminates a lot of the great games this gen.
