It's easier to develop one base game, the same for the three targeted platforms, than one base game and one downport. PC version is just a "lets throw there" and let the users add filters so it looks better, nothing more than that. Vita needs much more manhours than PC, you like it or not.

What are you talking about? That's not how development would happen. First off the base game is a 3DS game and they are working off those assets. Wii U, 360, and PS3 aren't identicle architectures and the Wii U and PS3 probably require the most dedication. They probably did all this work on a PC and ported it off that. The Vita falls in the PS3/360 power realm and could handle whatever added tweaks this game was getting from a 3DS. Vita is close to a PC architecture and is wide open for easy ports at lower res and if they don't want to spend the time they could reduce effects and objects.

This guy is in marketing btw, I doubt knows much about the process it would take to make a Vita port and what he says here is just trying to make the console ports shine in a good like by throwing out sensless stuff like "big screens" and "surround sound". This is just damage control and not an actual reason. Not the guy we need to here from for an answer to this.

@Aielyn

Vita could easily share assets between those systems and has with games already. Assassins Creed 3 Liberations uses the same engine as AC3, Uncharted GA uses complex lighting effects, etc. We are talking about up porting a 3DS game, which is well below what Vita can handle. 3DS shows the Wii up, but Vita shows the PS3 and 360 up in some categories although not others. You forget they have a PC version, which would by far make it easier to port to Vita than if it was on consoles alone.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

His original answer was: "What's a Vita?"

LOL.

Man I didn't even know it was getting a proper console release. Will probably pick it up on PS3.

It seems he couldn't even be bothered to try and make such a version

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

He should have said the truth: "It's going to sell a low number of units on Vita, so it makes no financial sense for us"

Yes becuase the wii u verison will sell like it has all the bell and whistles on.

Difference you dont see: System with good prospect of growth with a creator that is willing to do what is necessary to make it a sucess vs System stagnated whose creator does nothing about it.

Basically, they're too lazy

Anyone not willing to work for free is too lazy by that definition...

I guess ultimately the Vita isn't even worth the time and effort to make up plausible excuses.

A plausibel excuse would have been: "The PS Vita does not fit into our current plans for the franchise since we are trying to steer clear of "the living dead" and "survival horror"."

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

RE:R released in early 2012 on 3DS, not early 2011 as the OP stated. It's one year anniversary is in two days.

But in Wii U it will sold extreamly well!!!!

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

"really wanted to hone in on the experience you get with a large format screen, surround sound"

Then why the HELL IS IT ON 3DS
