I believe this poll... doesn't mean it will do impressive numbers by any means.

10% of gamers plan on buying an xbox360 which on average sells 1500 units a week so 64% equates to about 9000 units a week for the vita which is about what it does on average anyways. No, but seriously, they're probably anticipating a price drop. If they do, sales will probably make a big jump. I think, if anything, this poll definitely show there is interest in the vita.

A couple of things.

PC isn't that niche in Japan. They have far more shelf space devoted to PC games than the US. Far more obscure games get PC releases. There are even stores that specialize entirely in adult PC software. When I bought a keyboard a few months ago they had specialized Final Fantasy and other mmorpg keyboards and a big Razer section at the store.

I can also see the 3DS scoring lower as almost everyone already has one. It is unbelievable how many I see on trains. A few per car at least. And, I would imagine Famitsu readers would definitely already have one.

360 at 10% is surprising, but maybe it is getting cheap enough that people are willing to take a chance in order to check out some of the exclusives. Used games for the 360 are also much cheaper than the PS3 counterparts.

We'll see how this plays out...
That XBox 360 number seems uncharacteristically high.

the only thing meaningful in this poll is the wii U being lower than the Vita, so I expect a lot of wii U doomed thread

I would expect more Apple doom threads since it's below the XBox.

that means that most of experience gamers already have a 3DS, so they are waiting to save money or a price drop to buy the Vita they haven't bought yet

This thing exactly let me doubt the Famitsu demography is in any way representative for Japan.

That's like the same figure they had in pre launch polls for PS3 owners in Japan. 60%

Hopefully, they actually plan on really buying it. Maybe that price drop will do it.
