And it's boring me to death. I understand when a game should start slow to get you into the character's life/story and all that jazz, but this is rediculous. It's not even fun. At all. Literally no fun is being had with this game....

How much better is it supposed to get? Shame what the series has become. Ac2 is one of my favorite games of all time and it seems that the entries have gotten worse with each new release....

The problem is that theres barely any challenge, missions consist on very basic things, and the only challenge lies on dealing with the clunky controls
theres very little to do other than exploring and hunting which gets very repetitive after few hours
even grafix are plagued by horrendous pop up and the A.I. is beyond stupid......

I'd say stick with it as i heard it opens up around sequence 5-6. On the other hand you could youtube the ending as someone suggested on this site a while back.

OT: From what I saw with the trailer it actually looked pretty fun. What, specifically, annoys (or bores) you about this game? Is it the graphics, the battles, or the characters?

It does not feel like an Assassin's Creed game. So far (4.5 hours in now) the graphics are good. Not great because of framerate and just weird cutscenes, but good. Technically, it is a very impressive looking game. 

The battles so far are very easy. All I need to do is press O to counter then I'm able to instakill anyone. No challenge at all, and very repetitive. Again, doesn't feel like an Assassin's Creed game. With AC1 and to a lesser extent AC2, I felt like an Assassin. Not a US immigrant with sword skills. 

The characters are completely hit or miss, mostly missing. I'm a smart guy, but so far (just freed some slaves or something?) I have no idea what's going on. The story is a mess. I'm going from mission to mission not knowing anything and the acting of the characters are ho hum. Again, does not feel like an Assassin's Creed game.

So it seems to me that you a.) don't like the story and b.) don't like the combat. Hopefully those two things will pick up later on. These aspects of games usually tend to get deeper, so I wouldn't be surprised if you like the ending more. (Hopefully.)

Trust me, it gets worse. I agree the combat mechanics are flawed. Absolutely horrible. And wait 'til you see the horrible children.

In my opinion, the franchise is headed in the wrong direction. Idk how so many reviewers gave it 9+.

AC's fighting has never been challenging.

It doesn't get much better, I found it to be a borefest from start to finish. The main missions are bad and unimaginative and the environment is not appealing or good for parkour even (I spent most of the game running on the ground...). The story is uninteresting and the main character dull. I even liked AC1 more, and Revelations is a masterpiece next to 3.

Well what is your opinion of 2? Since that one is easily my favorite I'd be interested to know if we agree on most of these things before I stop playing AC3 and move on to Borderlands 2.
