Forums - Nintendo - Third party games I hope come to wii u

Well I won't give up hope.  And with that, I am outta these forums.  I'm tired dealing with naysayers.

Nintendo is a company that provides products for your enjoyment. Not a political movement that needs saving. Relax dude, lol.

Nintendo may like Tecmo just swell, but Ninja Gaiden 3 is selling worse than expired milk at the supermarket.

Nintendo needs to drop the price dramatically and get Mario Kart out as fast as possible, otherwise they are going to be sucking gas at 50k/hardware a week until fall. Pikmin and Wii Fit (old news) is not going to change anything, they better have something genuinely *big* by summer time at least.

Assassin's creed might have underperformed but ubisoft said they were happy with the sales of zombi u. For tecmo, they have had successful ventures on 3ds. Both will still support wii u just off them. Every company with half a brain knows late ports are destined to wind in the gutter. What do you have to say about the late ports that flopped in consistent numbers on the vita? It happens with any console. Its not exclusive to nintendo.

One more thing to complete my year = senran kagura localization =D

I don't care.  I'm tired of being told that there are NO third party games coming for WiiU and that it has no chance, because I don't believe that it's true at all.  I am in no mood to deal with posts like yours.  I am leaving these forums and that's that.

That's not totally true; if the costs for ports are correct, then sales of about 50k would make a profit of 1.5 million dollars.  And considering that Black Ops II, Assassin's Creed III, and even Batman Arkham City all crossed the 100k mark, I'm sure all three have made their money back.  So that's hardly tanking.  Plus they are showing legs.

Now Ninja Gaiden III I can see it having problems, but that game was already badly received to begin with, and it would take time for a franchise like NG to be repaired.

I'm not trying to start a whole thing, because I'm actually quite optimistic about third-party prospects on Wii-U, but I just want to point out that your maths is... off.  I've seen a couple of people projecting high profits from low sales from Wii-U ports.  In actuality there would likely still be profits from 50k sales, but it's nowhere near $1.5 million.

Using Ubisoft's figure for porting and Barozi's pie chart for breakdown of a $60 game, I had them making $400,000 from a game selling 60k copies - breakdown is here if you're interested.  Of course, that's assuming that every port cost $1.2 million.  I'd question that for a blockbuster title like Assassin's Creed 3, I find it a much more likely figure for something like Just Dance 4, but Ubisoft's number is all we have to go on for the time being.

Also, I don't mean to rub more salt into the wound, but according to November NPD numbers we have Assassin's Creed overtracked by at a few thousand here (if you check it against our database, we have it at something like 7th best-selling Wii-U game in USA for November, but NPD doesn't even have it in the top 10). So that one still has a little way to go to crack 100k :P

But all of this is moot.  I've said before and I'll say it again - late ports, or even just ports like AC3 & BO2 should never have been expected to be big sellers.  Aside from a dedicated few who will drop the money on a new console to play a touch-screen enabled version, the market for these multi-plats just isn't there yet.  Give Nintendo some time to build up the installbase from their own games, get Wii-U multi-plats releasing on the exact same day & date and then assess how they're doing.

Hmmmm.... So I guess I was a bit mistaken in my math estimates.  Still, I'd say that for ports, AC3 and BO2 did OK sales for themselves.  At least they didn't fail like Mass Effect 3 did.

i think gta 5 will come to the wii u since rockstar never confirmed nor denied they just said it could happen with a PC but they are focusing on the PS3 and 360 versions at the moment

From what you have mentioned, I'm only interested in 3. Tales Of, Dragon Quest, and Marvel Vs. Capcom.

Other than that I would like to have Kingdom Hearts 3 on the Wii U. (Muahahahaha!)

Dead or Alive will come (if the series is still being made after how much DOA5 bombed!) and I'd imagine Devil's Third will as well. There will be a Tales of game on Wii-U at some point as well, I'm pretty convinced. I don't think Senran Kagura is going to leave handhelds in all honesty.

The rest of them... I have to agree with Ryuzaki. If you're listing these as games you actually want to play, why not get a PS3? Compile Heart (Hyperdimension) & NISA look likely to be staying loyal to Sony for a while yet. GTA5 we know is coming to PS360. Maybe Wii-U version will come at some point, who knows. But for the time being. PS3 would satisfy your need to play them!

If you're doing this from a "this is what I'd like to see on my favourite console" point of view, I can see where you're coming from. It just seems a little silly that you seem to be a fan of niche Japanese games, which PS3 has been getting a lot of lately, then you spend £300 on a Wii-U which has just launched with like two Japanese-focused titles overall and only a couple more on the horizon.
I understand you can have loyalties to a company and all that, but PS3's were £125 over Christmas! You could've bought a PS3 + upgraded hard drive of your choice + about £150 worth of games for the price you paid for your Wii-U.
Your choice anyway. Wii-U will get there eventually, I'm sure.

Yes, i'm betting they'll make DoA5: Ultimate or something, especially if Nintendo's willing to help run western publishing like they did for Ninja Gaiden 3: RE. Toss in Samus, tweak some of the gameplay modes.

My guess is that GTAV will come alongside the PC version, or at the latest, the inevitable "Game of the Year" edition.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

The only way the Wii U can be successful is if it has 3rd party development. I've owned the 360, PS3 and the wii and was totally disappointed with the lack of support for the Wii. I'm a person who has been playing games since the Atari 2600, and expected more from the Wii when it was introduced. Now if the Wii U can appeal to core gamer's like the other systems, I might keep my "U." I think Zombie U was a great start to show the power of the system and Nintendo's commitment to get core gamer's. Nintendo has to step outside if the box and utilize some of there in house developers to create a hard core game for the "U" instead of waiting on ports.

If you mean hardcore as in mature content or goring praphics I think Nintendo will never go in that direction.  If you mean hardcore as in challenging game play, intricate and novel level design, or ingame dynamics, then you're still gonna  have to put up with a plumpy plumber here, or a fluffy creature there.  Nintendo's box has too much cash for them to want to risk it all.  Having a goal to appeal to 5-95 gamers is really a recipe for something that is a little sweet, and never too spicy.

At least now, they are letting 3rd parties and maybe even indies come to their platform with less censorship.
