Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo is silent for a reason

Fair point.

Having said that, 3rd party devs on Nintendo platforms are finicky. It's no point ruining a possibly sound strategy if it's to make sure they don't run away. Did they run away when the PS2 had few 1st party games on launch? When the 360 had few must-have 1st party games on launch? No, they didn't. They made those platforms their havens.

Do you have a WIIU? Is it better than your PS3/Xbox360. Please, shed a light on this.

I'm not sure how me owning one would make a difference to the 3rd party question, but I'll be nice with you because you're a WagnePaiva, and I love WagnerPaiva's.

I don't own a WiiU, and I heard that its OS is sluggish and have seen videos of that issue. I'm not willing to buy a console that has games I personally don't want/like and is slow on top of that. I currently am playing Wii VC games, Xbox 360 games (SFIV Arcade) and PC games at the moment.

Maybe HD development transition has been harder than they planned. Games delayed everywhere = no announcements.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

I own XBox360 and WiiU. WiiU is stronger, its easy to see. But who cares?

I think Nintendo's being TOO secretive and that it's hurting them. They should at least show us ONE game that takes advantage of the graphical power of the Wii U. A hint, a tease, something to get us hyped and psyched about. Nintendo needs to learn how to build momentum.

NSMBU and NintendoLand is a great start, but they have to show us something else. Those games probably have good legs - NSMBU certainly will have - and that's because people aren't rushing out to buy the Wii U just for those games; they're complementary games you get along side other games.

I agree with you here. If Nintendo showed just a little teaser of a graphically impressive game we wouldn't have so many people claiming that the Wii U is underpowered.

Agree. But, is it underpowered or not? My friends are telling me it is worst than PS3 and Xbox360, someone have some info that prove it is not the case?

That's the whole problem, without Nintendo showing us a title that is definitely beyond the capabilities of the HD twins, all we have to guage the Wii U's power in the mean time are multiplats who of course are not optimized for the Wii U so at best the Wii U version is identical to the PS3/360 version.

Signature goes here!

That's a horrible strategy. There are no advantages involved when being silent; people aren't going to be more likely to buy a game or console because the games were recently announced. However, the disadvantages are clear; you discourage potential consumers from buying the Wii U because they don't see any games to look forward to.

By announcing games now, you encourage current customers to buy the console and you'll still have big games in the future. In fact, by announcing games now, the games would probably be bigger because more people would have bought a Wii U in anticipation for the games.

Jay, you didn't read the thread and I'm not going to re-explain the points all over again.

Thanks. I was watching an Alien colonial marines interview and the producer said it is a"PERFECT FIT" for WiiU. I agree, WITH THE SCANNER AND ALL.

The only thing that prevents me from buying a WiiU is the rumors that it is worst than Xbox360 and PS3. I own them both and I rather wait for next gen if the Nintendo machine isn´t even a little better than them.

Of course there is New Super Mario, but, to be fair, I have played like 3 or 4 level of it on my DS, not really worth buying a console for it.

I dig the gamepad, but I was hoping for more power. Could be really cool for FALLOUT 4, imagine the P.I.P. on the gamepad, very cool. But, I don´t know, sometimes it seems to me it is only attractive to Wii only owners, that stayed loyal to Nintendo the entire last gen.

I am not been sarcastic or any of that, I really itching for a new console, but the rumors... And, like someone said, IF THEY SHOW A SINGLE GAME that looks cooler and do things than the current gen, everything would be different.

Anyone that can give me more info on that, is welcome.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

I hear ya. To be honest I think Trucks' reply to you makes a lot of sense. It's hard to tell how good the U is when all we have to compare are multiplats. We need some core flagships, and they're defo coming. OP was asking if they're being readied for the PS720 launch, and if that's why Nintendo is being secretive and why there's a gap. I personally believe that we will see those core flagships and, when we do, true gamers will buy them regardless, because they will be of uncontestable gameplay and visual quality (like most Nintendo core flagships -> TP, WW, Prime, Galaxy, Pikmin, etc. etc.)

True. Let´s wait them. This year, all I am excited about is LAST OF US, BEYOND and South Park.I love both PS3 and Xbox360. I am playing Dark souls on my Xbox360, so, I am not saying it is not a cool console, it is VERY cool. Actually, the controller is cooler than the dualshock3 in my opinion. However, I can´t wait to have a new console that DO things my current ones cannot even DREAM of doing. Like when I had a PS2 and bought a 360.
