Forums - Nintendo - I think the WiiU is 'doomed' because of the controller.

It's asymetrical single player gaming.

Its a first & revolutionizing thing in video gaming.

 - Pac-Man Vs says hello.

Just look at "Ninja Castle" (Nintendo Land mini game)

This same game is in Kirby Return to Dream Land (minus touch screen) and looks like a free app game.

ZombiU

 -Good use of gamepad

Batman Arkham City: Armored Edition

 - gamepad adds nothing of value to a game that is long since out on other systems

Pikmin 3

 -Doesn't use gamepad

Wii Fit U

Aliens: Colonial Marine

Darksiders 2

  - gamepad adds nothing of value to a game that is long since out on other systems

Just Dance 4

  - Main gameplay is all wiimote based and simply doesn't justify a WiiU purchase

And others.

I can't wait to see what they do in Mario Kart 8 & Metroid U & Super Smash Bros. & F-Zero U (the last IP of its franchise) & so fort.

-For games actually designed for it, the gamepad use should be better than 90% of the launch titles

Plus there's video chat during online gaming & it also has a 3DS feature called "true Panarama View" (because of its 6-Axis Accelrameter & 6-Axis Gyroscope & 6-Axis Geomagnitic Sensors).

Panarama view is old.  Smart phones have done this for some time.  I don't need WiiU for that.  Nor video chat.  Albeit, they are nice inclusions.

And it has NFC (which got ripped-off by Samsung Galaxy S3).

 -Has anything used the yet?

Its getting a Video App full of Panarama videos & it does true Panarama view for Google Maps street view.

Plus with a 2 GB RAM & a 800 MHz clocked Radeon High-Definition GPGPU & an "IBM POWER 7" CPU, we get awesome PC looking graphics (but there are PCs out there with better specs, but don't visibly look that much better then the Wii U version, no matter what)

Actually Batman Armored edition has a lot of new Gameplay mechanics thanks to the GamePad, which makes the game overall; much more interactive.

And Pikmin 3 only works with the GamePad. So I'm guessing you didn't play Pikmin 3 in E3 nor Chicago Wii U event, nor any other Wii U event, because you clearly haven't played Pikmin 3 to say such a ignorant thing about Pikmin 3.

And in Darksiders 2, Wii U version, you never pause the game during battle to change what you are equip with during battle (thanks to GamePad controller)

I hate pausing the 360 & PS3 version of Darksiders to change what I'm equip with, during a battle (it takes away from the gaming during gaming for crying out loud)

Just Dance 4 has such great new things as Puppet Master & so fort, and it's exclusive to the Wii U version only because of GamePad. (but I don't like games like this, so I will never buy these games of any franchise)

So thanks for showing how uninformed some gamers still are, to understand people like you.

I don't know, I just really really think it was a big mistake.

Like the dual screens of the DS, or the motion controls of the Wii, or... the ditching of CD's for the N64, the point is, you could be right but you could be wrong we have to wait and see, nintendo hasn't put their first AAA game on the Wii U, let's se what they have and then we call it doomed, or not... patience is a virtue.

this.

and the fact that Nintendo decides to something completely different is a good thing! otherwise we would literally have another ps360

NINTENDO

nintendo forever . . .

i thought the gametab was a good idea,it's probably just expensive right now,the WiiU will get cheaper to make against the opposition depending what they do,it's all price and games really isn't it,like someone else said you can still Wiimote can't you but covering all points and making games for everyone at once isn't as easy as all that i guess,it all revolves around the gametab at the moment

they can grab everyone when the price is right which is what nintendo is expecting to do i'd assume

                                                                                                                                        Above & Beyond

I don't know, I like it.

Actually the "AMD Radeon High-Definition GPGPU" automatically gets overclock at 800 MHz when there is 1 GB of RAM dedicated to it.

?? source needed, sounds more like a Laptop GPU feature tbh.

And Nintendo release the specs (some months ago) saying it has a "IBM POWER 7" CPU I believe.

It definetly has no Power 7 and Nintendo has not released the specs. So again I need to know what information this claim is based on.

And Nintendo also revealed that 1 GB of RAM is dedicated to the GPGPU.

Yes 1gb for the GPU and 1gb for the OS atm.

Plus Epic said they will port almost every single Unreal Engine 4 game to the Wii U.

No they never said that. If a game gets ported the decision is made by developers/publishers and not by Epic. And I very much doubt that the majority of the UE4 games including Epics creations end up on Wii U.

And Crytek Engine 3 requires way more power in specs then Unreal Engine 4 does.

?? Source please. Cryengine 3 is scalable just as UE4 best examples are Crysis1/2 running on PS360

And Crytek 3 does almost every different thing more better then Unreal 4, but Unreal 4 does 2 things much more better then Crytek 3.

You are pretty young aren't you ?

So the Wii U will run Unreal 4 at 100% capacity, because it does Crytek 3 at 100% capacity and beautifully at that (while downloading Firmware Update in the background and other online downloading during gaming). But it doesn't run Unreal 4 natively or at least not for now.

I am not quite sure I understand what you are saying here. I am not aware of any Cryengine 3 game on Wii U also what do you mean by running at 100% capacity ? If you mean using all the features of CE3/UE4 then no Wii U can't do that.

But yeah, I am hype at upcoming stuff for the Wii U, like games & Panarama View video App & so fort. But right now it only has Nintendo Land for what I want. So yeah I agree with you on the games, but it is getting the games too, like Pikmin 3 & Wii Fit U & Super Smash Bros. & the all the upcoming Hardcore games that are always release on both the 360 & PS3, after the around June or November 2013 for 100% of the PS3/360 3rd party games.

If you expect after June or November 2013 all PS360 3rd party games to be released on Wii U you will be disappointed.

Plus the Home Console sells is only second to the a Wii, so it's doing better then the PS2 for the same point in Life Span.

No, the Wii U is not doing PS2 numbers.

My answers are in your quote. I am not saying Wii U is doing bad just not great. And that the game situation looks rather bad atm. If you are satisfied thats all that matters but I wouldn't expect PS360 level of 3rd party support. And also not that every PS4/720 3rd party game gets a WiiU port.

then I get the PS4 is doomed as well?

First 1 month sales of 3DS = 3.61 million

Life time sales of PS Vita = 4.1 million

First 6 month sales:

PS3 = 1.2 million

360 = 1.4 million

First 2 month sales of Wii U = 1.2 million or so.

Eat your heart out fanboy, LOL.

I love the controller and when Nintendo puts demos of games that people like in stores instead of videos and photos, more people will like it, too.
