No Ninpie. Just No. They are guilty of the same thing third parties are guilty of. They give us half asses pokemon games on consoles. We do not buy them or we are tricked into buying them hoping we have something good and then we learn that they gave us nothing but a pile of ....nothing great. Sure, you can battle your favorite pokemon and do a little bit of other stuff, but it is not a full on Pokemon game. IF they would give us a chance maybe we would surprise them. Same with third parties force feeding us games like Dead Space: exctraction and what not.

Like I said, there is a point to why Nintendo wants to keep the mainline Pokemon Series on it's Handhelds. I doubt they'll ever listen to someone wanting a 7th or even 8th generation Pokemon game on a Home Console.

Besides, Home Console Pokemon games aren't half bad.

You're right. They're full bad.

I think if they released Metroid Prime 4 in HD to show how the wiiu is allegedly stronger than the 360/ps3 and casualized and added dedicated multiplayer, they could push toward a new audience. Of course, they have to strike quick before the ps4 and 720 blow its graphics out of this world. Probably would have been more effective if it was a launch title.

Around the Network

Premise of this thread is faulty. It's assuming that people buy a console for one particular game, which isn't always the case.

When I bought a PS3, it wasn't one game in particular that made me say "I need a PS3 fight now. I was interested in Uncharted, but it wasn't enough for me to buy the console. I was interested in Ratchet and Clank, but it wasn't enough. Heavy Rain was interesting, but it wasn't enough. Ditto for God of War 3.

None of these games individually motivated me to throw down 300 dollars on a console, but they all contributed till eventually I decided to purchase it.

Same thing with the Wii U. Is Lego City Undercover going to push units by itself? No, but it will sweeten the pot for people who had been looking into the Wii U. Same thing for Pikmin 3, Bayonetta 2, or Wonderful 101. However, the cumulative effect of the games together help move consoles.

These are the games that will push large numbers of units of the Wii U, beyond NSMB U (which is likely the one selling the system right now) and Monster Hunter 3 in Japan. Note that they're not in a particular order, beyond "the order that I think of them"

- Zelda
- Smash Bros
- Pokemon
- Mario Kart
- 3D Mario
- Wii Sports sequel
- Dragon Quest X in Japan
- Wii Fit U

Metroid could have a huge impact, in theory, but it's not a big enough franchise at this point in time - it could, theoretically, become huge, but only if Nintendo tell Sakamoto to take a hike. I think that Nintendo's best bet would be to place it into the hands of either Retro or Platinum Games, or possibly Monolith Soft if they want a more Japanese flavour to boost the series there (Platinum is Japanese, but their games are more... mixed in style). It could actually become Nintendo's answer to Halo, in terms of franchise size. But as the situation stands (at least, to our knowledge), it's not going to be a big system-seller.

Zelda under Aonuma has struggled somewhat. It will still be a system-seller for Nintendo, but if they drop Aonuma's direction and make appropriate adjustments, the franchise could end up being bigger than 3D Mario currently is, with 10+ million sales.

Also noteworthy are Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy - if Nintendo can get one or both of these as an exclusive on the Wii U, they'll sell systems worldwide. But they need to get them, first - that Square Enix has Dragon Quest as an exclusive is encouraging.
