I don't see this as a problem.  It's just a smooth transition.  If your legacy system can have a good tail end to its life I don't see how that hurts your company.  I mean they're making a killing on DS and Wii so they should take whatever sales they can get on them.  WiiU will work its way in just like 3DS did (I don't think they should have cut the 3DS so soon but I guess they got worried when Sony announced Vita for $250).

Nah casuals wont be swayed by core games this late in the gen. Core gamers allready made their choices.



Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Shows how fast things are declining.  The predictions of a slow and steady decline over 4 years or more for the PS3 were ridiculous, the predictions of "possibly flat" for this year were insanity.

Pricecut, colours, games. Releasing the cheap model in America would be a start, too.

Yeah, we've done this before and they turned out to not be correct, so I'll take these with a massive pinch of salt and wait for the frontpage to update.

With that said, holy shit if the Vita & Wii-U numbers are anywhere near these. And it'll only get worse before it gets better...

WiiU is in direct competition with PS3 and 360.

It shares the same games. It competes for consumers money. It competes for shelf space.

I said a while back that the WiiU would have a hard time differentiating itself from PS3 and 360. The exclusives and "next gen" games simply arent there.

Its called marketing.....and Halo as a brand name. And Gears isn't a system seller anymore, least I dont think so.

I don't see any core gamer today that didn't buy a PS3 because of a GOW spinoff or a new IP. Marketing will determine any sales spike.

Now its just about casuals and price point of the console to entice said casuals.
