I don't see this as a problem. It's just a smooth transition. If your legacy system can have a good tail end to its life I don't see how that hurts your company. I mean they're making a killing on DS and Wii so they should take whatever sales they can get on them. WiiU will work its way in just like 3DS did (I don't think they should have cut the 3DS so soon but I guess they got worried when Sony announced Vita for $250).
