Real gamers adapt to all. They all are fine.

of course we can adapt, but its time for an upgrade to the ps3 controller imo.

I don't disagree but I don't think it would be a deal break for me, is probably what I should have said.

The one thing I would love is a heavier controller from Sony. It is part of the reason why I like using the circle pad pro on the 3ds as it ads weight even though it looks bad lol.

As for the d-pad I agree Nintendo has the best. I think they all have different designs because of patents.

I like how the 360 controller has the nubs inverted so your thumbs sit in them, but again I am sure the others can't do that cause it be classified as a direct copy. 

its a deal breaker to me  also but ps3 needs a better controller and the 360 pad needs a good d-pad.

I sold my PS1, because I hated the controller that much. I played on my N64 instead. N64 controllers broke down every now and then, but they felt comfortable. Sometimes I play on a PS3 and everytime I pick up the controller I am like "This still feels not right."

I will get the Xbox 3, because of the exclusives and the online experience. This is where the Xbox offers the best for me and this is the most important criteria for me.

I only look at games. This gen the 360 had more appealing games to me than the PS3. Whether that's still the case next gen I will wait and see.

I've got my PC for power and graphics. Consoles will never be able to compete with it.

If I get any it will be the Next box. I just dont like the playstation. Never have, never will. I enjoy the exclusives that are on the 360. But as money is tight at the mo I may not even get the next box.

I plan to get both, and I strongly urge you to do the same. If you have the time and disposable income to dedicate to both, that is.

I totally agree that the Xbox 360 controller is better than PS3, but it's not a deal-breaker. The PS3 software line-up is a lot more impressive than Xbox 360, especially if you own a decent PC. But who knows what the future will bring. I'm glad to see Microsoft is investing in new first-party software, even if it appears to be heavy on the shooter side.

So I say get both. And if you really don't want to, just pick the platform with the games you like the most. And hope your friends get the same system :)

What?! You're the first person I've ever seen say that. I thought it was unanimously agreed that achievements were a much better system because you can compare your gamerscore with others...no PS3 owners I know even care about their trophies.

I´ve always had every major console (NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, PS1, Saturn, Dreamcast, PS2, GCN, Xbox, PS3, X360, Wii), but this upcoming generation is the first I won´t be getting all three again..though money isn´t a problem, I don´t have as much time to devote to gaming as I used to, so I´ll stick with two consoles, one of them being the Wii U, seeing as I still really enjoy some of Nintendo´s 1st party games, though Metroid and Zelda are quite damaged as far as I´m concerned.

So, between the next Xbox and the PS4, probably the latter based on the diversity of Sony´s 1st and 2nd party games.If there´s one good thing that came out of the horrible start Sony had with the PS3 (along with key 3rd party titles being shared with the 360), is they really invested in a very large and diverse 1st/2nd party portfolio.Nowadays I have as much fun with many of them as I have with Nintendo´s games.

Anyway, probably the PS4, but I´ll be keeping an eye on the next Xbox and seeing the amount and kind of 1st/2nd party efforts by MS.
