So ignoring the 40 million for the first four weeks to get rid of early adopter outliers, we see 20 million for the next six weeks works out to a rate of 3.3 million per week for Windows 8

Windows 7 is said to have sold 90M licenses 18 weeks after release for a rate of 5 million per week. Alas, I can't control for the launch surge here. But looking at longer-term Win7 shipments, we see 525M copies in 116 weeks, or 4.5 million per week as of Jan 19, 2012

It's early days yet, but right now, I'd say Win8 is selling faster than Vista, slower than 7.

Anyway, I was looking to buy a new laptop at Dicksmith (NZ electronics shop). All were Win 8 laptops couldn't find a cheap win 7. I was hesitant to buy until middle aged-old woman approached me. Turns out she bought Win 8 just a week before and she had trouble learning all the basics. Although, I knew more about Win 8 than she did, I never mentioned anything. We talked for a while then she started to teach ME all the basics lol. 

All in all, I asked her which she preffered, Win 7 or Win 8. She told me that Win 7 was easy enough but WIn 8 is an amazing OS once you get to know it. Then I said, Win 8 over Win 7? She then said definitely. 

Yup windows 8 is great if you get used to the new things. And it's so fast. Sales will only rise because there are a lot of new cool devices coming.

The funny thing is is that you're probably not joking.

Friday I get a new laptop from work with Windows 8 :). Wondering how I will experience it ^^'.
