Sony didn't confirm anything except that they are discontinuing production. Sales and years were added by the guardian

Just as I predicted. When I said it Turkish told me that they'll keep producing them until 2016 and it still sells more than the DS each week.

Anyway, farewell old friend. You're still my #1 console of all time. :')
