It was a good thread...yet it got locked. Why?

It seems that ever since the new mods have joined they've been clamping down on threads like this. Jay, rol, me, Galaki, etc. made threads like this all the time in the first half of the year which spiced up the forum and injected some much needed humour. However, lately there has been NONE of these threads that haven't got locked and I want to know why.

Who's in charge of implementing these new mod policies that restrict these kind of threads?

Why do these threads need to get locked? Who are they offensive/harmful to? 

Also, keep this thread open. VGChartz is a democratic site and mods are meant to be representing the people and working to do whats best for the forum. Quashing discussion like this (which need to be had!) is communism.

sure that thread is fun for those who side with Nintendo but not to those who side with Sony so I agree with Mr.Khan for locking it as it is bound to get people banned.

It's not just the new mods you know.
Besides, it's their job. Many threads made by the people you mentioned are flaming by definition. Their job is to quash out flaming.

The thread in question was rubbish. It was an obvious bait thread with you looking for a rise out of people. Infact. I think youve had 3/4 threads this Week alone looking to wind people up.

The difference between you and Rol is... You try too hard to be funny. Rol doesnt need to try.

I usually agree with khan and other mods on the threads that are locked, but i didnt really see anything wrong with that thread. It was a simple comparison between similar games. The thread might have been better if mbp had changed the op to be about whether or no all stars would have sold better if they had launched at the same point in time.

Locking the thread was probably a bit heavy handed though...

There is a line between trolling and original comedy. The mods made a valid judgement your post was trolling. I hope this thread is locked as well because it's basically a "why was my thread locked mods????". If you have a problem with the mods' decisions talk to the mods. If you're trying to show general moderation issues (this site is NOT public property remember) you need a LOT more examples than that.

In all seriousness, the thread was locked because there was no reasonable discussion possible. Any thread created where reasonable discussion is impossible would be locked, any time. Especially if it concerns topics that are known to upset people.

No-one in the thread was offended though. The only people who get offended by threads like this are the likes of Turkish and Carl. The thread was fun...some people need to lighten up :->
