So you wouldn't even be able to borrow a game from your friend's, that is just ridiculous.

this is the post i was hoping to see.

MS is doing the same thiung. it's called protecting ypur investment,  they'll both be doint it at a very risky cost

They still need places like Gamestop, and while publishers would be ecstatic, hardware manufacturers would get MASSIVE backlash.

If Sony implements this, they are sooooo done in Japan, lol.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

I don't buy used games either, but I do like to share game with friends.

They would be screwed everywhere. Aren't there laws promoting consumer rights in europe?

One more thing to complete my year = senran kagura localization =D

That's fucked up! When I go to a friend house, I take some of my multiplayer games, to play in his house. When he comes over, he does the same. This patent won't allow me to do that? That is something that would make me choose other console!

With reaction like this, maybe it would be better to go digital only console.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

if they really do this sony can go fuck them selfs

Microsoft said last year they research into that too.
Everyone is - Sony,Microsoft and Publishers are crying cause they want this to stop.

And i like that.
Don't care who finds the solution the other one will copy it anyway and thats a good thing.
Buying games used is worse than piracy and should be sentenced with 10 years in jail at least.
Cause publishers are right - IT IS STEALING but the only difference to piracy is people think they do something right LOL

Get a job and money and buy the games you really need and want.
People without many shouldn't play anyway - They should look for a job. They shouldn't worry about if they can buy the game new or wait till it gets cheaper.

Used games isn't stealing, but it IS standing in the way of publishers getting a larger piece of the pie that they deserve. There was a time where owning a game made it your copy of that game. You can buy a house and a car second hand, but for digital media that has all changed. Because gaming is coming towards a less tangible time the publishers know they can scream bloody murder if you dont pay them first hand for the game. The same goes for DVD's and other things because sooner or later that is what it will come down to and the consumer will be cornered. You have no right to anything they've invested in unless it is tangible. You have no right to the game that is on the disc, let alone the DLC (which is bullshit) because Capcom and EA were playing games with DLC being on the discs and only being unlocked after they were purchased. Conclusion? Someone is playing hardball. I cannot blame them for being angry with second hand sales.

ITS Aleady been stated in several PS4 articles that this is something Sony wants to implement..
They are dropping an updated CELL because its too hard to program for and offers little advantage..
And they are planning a system that will save MILLIONS in lost sales and cut game stop out of the equation..

If they do this then they need to make an online pass for every single game because some games stop selling after a while. For example I just bought Lost Odyssey and U had to buy it used because they don't sell the game any more. Other wise I dont even buy used games but after a game has been out for years you don't really have much of a choice.
