Some are ports, some are remakes. We'd have to go through them on a game-by-game basis. Pretty sure X and Zero Collections are both ports with some extras.

I went back yesterday and played Star Wars: Battlefront 2 and Gran Turismo 4. Yeah I'm going to have to go with the PS2.

Never underrestimate how much pure fun Pokemon is, and for how long it can be played without getting tired of it. I can play a pokemon game for years, but I'd probably be done with all the games he mentioned in months.

I'd like to hear too, actually. I'm surprised the results are so close, to be honest. The only line-up that compares well to PS2 is SNES. Now THAT would be an interesting topic. Of course the Chartz might actually implode...

The NES line-up can actually be considered to be superior to the SNES line-up in some regards. However, people seem to have comletely forgotten Old-shool arcade style games, which is why the SNES looks superior.

I think NES is superior because it started off so many classic Nintendo franchises that they still use today.  Maybe the games were improved in SNES era but you gotta give some credit for new IP

There was never a library as dominant as the PS2 and I doubt there ever will be again.

Of all the consoles I've owned/played, I've never touched the PS2. However, I do know what games it has, and I can't ignore that it has the biggest and widest library of all systems and that there are a multitude of classics on there.

At the same time however, DS has Mario 64. And Zelda. And Mario Party and Yoshi's Island (include those two to the OP list, unless you consider them part of Mario). And Mario Kart. And Layton. Plus, in the 5m+ list posted by F0X earlier, those 18 DS games destroy the 18 PS2 games in my opinion, moreover, that list is about to be enriched with Zelda likely after this holiday season.

So, even if I'd played the PS2, it's likely I'd prefer DS's library. However, I don't want to ignore what PS2 accomplished and I don't want to wuss out by checking the 'Both equally' box... What to do?

I'm not sure that, because it has a nicer cover, that it's a better game. Having said that, how would you rate a game like DQIX against DQVIII? Which is better?

If you judge by the cover, you'll probably say 8 is better, but if you judge by the game, I'd be hard-pressed to think one is less good than the other, since DQ is a pretty traditional franchise.

Apart from the natural transition to an online framework, I would believe both to be pretty similar. Anyone who's actually played them and is not biased can add their two cents? Soriku?
