PS3 shipped March, 2012: 63.9 million

PS2 + PS3 after March, 2012 until September, 2012: 6.3 million (http://www.scei.co.jp/corporate/data/bizdata_ces_sale_e.html)

The Sony 70 million is dated to 4th November, 2012.

if Sony only shipped PS3 after March, 2012 then you have 70.2 million at end of September, 2012... the officinal data is 70 million 4th November, 2012.

So in 6.3 million have PS2 sales.

How much? I don't know but over 200k is certain... more likely over 1 million because Sony had another month (October) shipment to PS3 reach 70 million.

So you get the 156 million you want.

seriously, all of your sources tell the same which they probably have from one other site. there is no link to a sony press release or anything.

and i did not even say that i don't believe those links (ok i don't since ethomaz posted some stuff) but there is nowhere the information that they discontinued it beginning of 2012 or that there were reshipped models or whatever. all of that is only "because you were talking to a high sony employee on the phone"

The removed it of course, but why is nobody at Sony standing up and denying that "rumor" into nonsense! If i was from sony i would officially deny it! But sony didn´t! If more persons from sony tell me, that the PS2 is discontinued why the hell they should lie to me?

I'm not saying the rumor is not true... neither is true... I just saying while Sony said nothing is impossible to say the PS2 production was stopped.

And I showed to you with official data why the PS2 shipped near or over 156 milliom but the last official data is 155.1 million at March, 2012.

Edit - There PS2 end rumors came from 2010 too... in 2010 some shops in Japan stopped to sell it so the people guessed it has been discontinued... same happened in 2011 too.

This is exactly what i mean! Come on, why should they bundle PS2 and PS3 numbers? They do not need to hide something (or do they?) The PS2 has been f... successfull and the PS3 has been the highest selling Gaming Syatem (leave the 3DS out if you like) in 2012! If you ask me, there is nothing to hide! Just what i´ve been told: They are reshipping units they got back from retailers. And sony is not like they count shipped PS2´s 2 times. You understand?
