As if Nintendo was the first console ever LOL! And if it wasn't for PS1/PS2 your games would still be on cartridges instead of discs.

Historically, you know that this is incorrect right? Rather, had it not been for the PS1, Nintendo would have been on disks much sooner.

why do you think Nintendo went with cartridges when the others chose discs?

The reason Playstation exists today is because Nintendo approaced them to provide the disc reader for the next Nintendo Console. When Sony wanted more part in the console They parted ways and Nintendo was forced to change plans very quickly and in many ways was forced to use their own Cartridge technology 
a third time. 

I doubt heavily Playstation would exist today if Nintendo didnt approach them.


well NIntendo obviously liked something about Sony to approach them. NIntendo saw a dormant beast before anybody else ;)

:) Sony was manufacturing Nintendo's sound cards for the SNES. The engineer for that card (Kutaragi I think) was very ambitious, but Sony working with Nintendo was nothing new, it was there even some 4-5 years before the Sony Playstation was released.

You need to brush-up on your vg history my man! :D

If anything they should be worse. The consoles are holding games back in terms of capability. We are the main chunk of the gaming market so games are created for our needs and our limits, well, for the most part. Something my brother reminds me of on a semi-regular basis. If consoles weren't around, gaming would look and be more advanced.

I've used a Microsoft OS since DOS, I don't get why people hate something they use daily.  I've tried the competition and they were inferior for my needs.  Anyway I use a number of their products and consider myself a fan.  I think its just accepted that's its cool to hate on the big guy. 

As for the topic, the worst of the Sony fanboys eclipse both Microsoft and Nintendo fanboys so I think they end up causing a stink that rile the other camps too often.  This is just my anecdotal opinion of course and everyone will have a different viewpoint .


A lot of people hated Microsoft well before they came into the industry, people (who werent tech savvy) were still dependent on it. Much like AT&T they were looking to monopolize everything they touched (and are struggling to maintain that). In a previous school I did economy projects  on monopolies and why companies get sued by the government for it and Microsoft and AT&T were the A-list offenders. If you like Microsoft, by all means like them. Its all about choice.

well for me there are several levels of "fanaticism"
in comments you can see stuff like " yeaah Nintendo ruleeees, the wii u rocks etc..."
and others like "nintendo ruleees sony sucks ps3 piece of crap"
i love Nintendo to death!! and i will support them no matter what, but i can appreciate good games like uncharted, halo, God o war.
the sad part of this "war" is that fan-boys treat consoles as a sport team, they belief that for one company to succeed, other one has to loose and suck. the cant understand that all companies can and have to coexist
