Hmm I wonder if Valve will make there games (L4D, Half-Life ,Portal, etc) exclusive to themselves now, like no PS360 versions?

Right. However, the "very controlled environment" statement concerns me a bit, since I think that goes beyond simply having a living room-friendly gaming PC. :/ Need moar info.

So it's a PC where you can't do most of the PC stuff ?

If that's the case it will be nothing more than a home console without exclusive first party games. If it just runs all PC games then why wouldn't I buy a computer? I'll stay skeptical until I know more. |
Huh? Just one announcement needed. Exclusive Half-Life 3. Valve already has more successful franchises than MS has on X360...
I think this could be interesting, but only if they manage to cooperate with the game developers and convince them to write games with their platform and its hardware in mind, so that they run better on it, than on a random PC (just like with a console). If they do that, it can be HUGE with core gamers! Just think. I can actually be less powerful than a top gaming rig, but at the same be more efficient with running games and thus show comparable stuff. Add to this cheap Steam games and do we suddenly get the best console pricewise? Can be huge, but we need to see how it ranks next to PS4/Xbox8.
Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!
My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/
My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

That's called a console......

If I can play a bunch of PC titles on max settings and download mods for it without having to go out and buikd a PC myself Im sold

So Half Life 3 exclusive to the Steam Box......you don't think that would piss off all the PC gamers who have spend years upgrading their rigs?
Well nobody needs[/] to build a PC, you can always buy a complete one.
So if it's not upgradable it will be outdated some time. I just don't see the reason why you'd need one.
The only reason I could see is size.
