JoeTheBro said: I don't understand why anyone would buy this. We know it won't be able to compete with the power of next gen systems (with optimization) unless its games are optimized themselves. If that's the case it will be nothing more than a home console without exclusive first party games. If it just runs all PC games then why wouldn't I buy a computer? I'll stay skeptical until I know more. |
Huh? Just one announcement needed. Exclusive Half-Life 3. Valve already has more successful franchises than MS has on X360...
I think this could be interesting, but only if they manage to cooperate with the game developers and convince them to write games with their platform and its hardware in mind, so that they run better on it, than on a random PC (just like with a console). If they do that, it can be HUGE with core gamers! Just think. I can actually be less powerful than a top gaming rig, but at the same be more efficient with running games and thus show comparable stuff. Add to this cheap Steam games and do we suddenly get the best console pricewise? Can be huge, but we need to see how it ranks next to PS4/Xbox8.

So Half Life 3 exclusive to the Steam Box......you don't think that would piss off all the PC gamers who have spend years upgrading their rigs?

Exclusive to Steam*

Yes, this is obviously what I meant. Just make the Valve "console" the only console with HL3, Portal 3, Left4Dead 3, Counter-Strike, etc. PC is not in the way in this war.
Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!
My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/
My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.
