Forums - Gaming - Shouldn't Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo rent out their games on their store?

They complain that companies rent out their games and it's keeping them from making money off them but wouldn't it make sense for them to rent their game?Is there a reason why they're not doing this that Im not aware of?

They would making a fortune if they rent out there games for like a dollar or two dollars a day or something like that, would be a great feature and would probably put a lot of companies out of business not to mention making it a lot more convient for us.

i always thought those who complain are third or second party developers and not the big three. i mean, gamestop also helps them because they sell their consoles at gamestop and they would maybe sell much less consoles without gaming stores.

It's a good idea. But I'm sure they have done the math on it and found that they wouldn't make as much money as pure sales.

Not a bad idea... Easy way to cash in on digital content.

Sony is actually doing this with PS+

seems like the bandwidth costs might not be worth a couple dollars for Nintendo, unless people were paying multiple times to keep them longer

No, because it'll make vgchartz obsolete

Well, sales would be down dramatically if that option became available. It would be a financial suicide.

i expect something like this with gaikai.

I hate the damn Jelly Bean roll-over advertise. It is too intrusive and making the site difficult to use.
