WiiU will be headed for disappointment come Jan/Feb. Mark my words.

WiiU, 3DS and Vita are going to be the big losers of this generation.

I can't really say anything about what will be the future of the Wii U, but my god you must be retarded if you think the 3DS is going to be a "big loser of this generation."

The 3DS selling 500k in one week is never bad.  It only did "poorly" because last year it sold much more at the same time.

But I think you weren't paying attention when it's been announced that Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, and Luigi's Mansion are coming to North America next year.  All of these games have good potential at selling the system.

Not only that, but we have Monster Hunter 4 for Japan and global Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for Wii U and 3DS.  There's Dragon Quest VII for Japan.  There are two more Zelda games that will be coming to the 3DS as well.  A remake and an original.  Super Smash Brothers too.  ALL of these things I listed will boost the sales of the 3DS, and the 3DS' sales are ALREADY quite high, being a third of the sales of the PS3 or 360's and being out for a fifth of the time.  Seriously?

Perhaps he was being mythodical in an odd way, in that he predicts the losers of the next gen...is the next gen itself. Spooky.

Or maybe he's just missed the fact the 3DS has likely outsold the PS3's LTD in Japan this week, or that it's headed for well over 25mil come the end of the year; and that the WiiU hasn't even launched WW yet, and that it's only been out for a maximum of 2 weeks in one territory and is vastly outpacing the PS3 and 360 and nearly outpacing the Wii. And all those factors you mentioned, of course.

But perhaps it is the former...and that may well be true.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

But if he were saying that the loser of next gen was next gen, why not include the next consoles from Sony and Microsoft?  We know they're coming.  There's also Ouya.  Saying it the way he did doesn't seem like he meant to call the generation itself a loser generation.  Especially in context to this thread, it seems to be sales-related.

Yeah I'm 99.9% certain he meant only those consoles, so I guess you could call it ridiculous that he's damning the sales of all current gen consoles when one has yet to be out for a month anywhere and another has hit 25mil in 18 months, when we don't even know the names of the other systems, let alone anything else.

It seems Xbox 360 dominance, even in the lead up to Christmas seems to be ending. It has never been so close before. Just 20000 between the two!

In its 2 strongest regions it is dominating the competition.  The problem is they didn't price cut Europe hence the lower demand.  Either way its clear Microsoft are happy with their market share as its all about profitability for them.

You mean UK and US right? Well you're wrong.

It is NOT "dominating" in the UK.
It is in the US.

Keep telling yourselves that, it is consistently out selling it weekly and for the year and will soon by in the number one spot.  If you don't like what I have to say then just don't reply, certainly not with a curt response with no evidence of why I'm "wrong".  Thanks.

People like pezus and vgking said MANY times that "Vita hasn't even been for a year!!" and all that and to have great amounts of patience.

Yet they don't exercise the same restraint in regards to the Wii U.

Let's try to be OBJECTIVE here people....

And check my sig, I'm a PSN trophy whore. No allegiance to the Wii U over here. Just a little something I've noticed on their part.

Anyway, let's look at the FACTS:

Wii U has not been out for very long and it is WAAAAY to early to draw conclusions about how successful it will be. You have to give it AT LEAST a year on the market.

Also, you have to wait for the BIG games to come out.

Any questions??

Lol, getting bit back, eh?

Let's see, what did I do? I took the Wii U launch in Europe and compared it to Vita's. It's up to you to draw conclusions from that or speculate as you wish, but Wii U launching with less than the "flop of all flops" (according to you) during the high point af the holiday season is anything but a good sign.

Just wait till the BIG games come out.

(I get to post this for a year. Get used to it. :P )

When tf did I say that? Certainly not recently. Vita is doing horrible, I  never denied that. What I have said however is wait until after the holidays to see where it settles in weekly sales. Certainly it won't go back to pre-holiday sales.

Have I said the Wii U is dead or something? No. Just stated the obvious like the Europe launch was weaker than the Vita one, which isn't a good sign no matter how you spin it.

@bold
Vita hasn't been out for a year and people are already calling it dead and saying it should be discontinued.....expect the same for Wii U.

BTW, Wii U already has big games. Assasisn's Creed 3, Black Ops 2..etc. Oh and obviously the new Mario game.

Finally...let me say this, your console of preference doesn't matter. Trolling is trolling. You come off as very very annoying to me and most of your comments are flamebait.

Fine. I'll explain to you why the Xbox 360 isn't dominatin the UK. Simply outselling the PS3 doesn't mean it is "dominating".  Right now there's like barely a 10k difference in 360s favor. A few weeks ago during the AC3 launch, PS3 outsold 360......

Yes, 360 is winning in the UK. Dominating? Far from it. PS3 is very much going head to head with the 360.

In the US you could say the 360 is dominating, and you would be right. It's been the best selling console for like 23(?) months straight there.

Nice try though.
