The image quality on the PS3 is better than Wii U Netflix. I tested it out yesterday on the same content and the PS3 has better black levels, the Wii U gives a washed out image quality.

I'm sorry though I just can't believe that HD (I'm not talking about Netflix "HD") and Blu-ray have a night/day difference. How does Blu-ray compare to the best movie theater screens? Because those are picture perfect, and unbelievably crisp (which is what Hunger Games in HD looks like on my TV) Either way I'll have to try to get my cousin to bring his PS3 over and watch a blu-ray on it. What would you recommend? (something at Redbox preferably) |
Just buy Inception on DVD then on Bluray : you'll never buy a DVD again.
Or else try the Prometheus Bluray, absolutlely stunning.

Its not that its low, its that on the PS3 the sales are spread out. Theres too many exclusives amongst multiplats and theres no focus on a couple genres like the 360. Microsoft knows how to make money, so they focus on the genres that rake in the most money. If you look at Uncharted, Killzone, GOW, COD, GT, Grand Theft Auto, Assassasins Creed and others the PS3 has hits that sell, but the base is too spread out.

Lol I don't buy DVD's. I stream on Netflix/Amazon and get TV DVD shows (would be blu-ray but I have no blu-ray player) and very occasionally buy a film on demand in HD.

Steaming is on par with DVD's, I can understand why you dont.
Not surprising, it has by far the best app and it's free to use.

I'm just quoting you but it's nothing personal. Just using you as an example.
I don't get why people in this thread keep saying that it's the best by such a huge margin. Think about it. Virtually every version of Netflix is the same! Does the PS3 version have extra footage at the end of the movies or something!? I use the PS3 version, too but I really don't think I'd notice/care if someone secretly switched it with another version.
*edit* this is almost like a Digital Foundry thread where people are claiming that one version is vastly better than the other because there was on more tree on lever 32 of Super Puffball Adventures!
What about the family room?
OT; I do have netflix on my PS3 and it is very nice.
Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.
Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash
I use Netflix on my tablet, phone, 360 and PS3. The deciding factor over whether I use the 360 or PS3 is which device is currently hooked up to the screen and amp. There is bugger all difference except my PS3 is quieter in use but that matters little when you have a projector lol. I imagine the Gold only users on 360 hurt its numbers badly too.
