Oh hey I might be able to run that on my computer maybe...my CPU is a bit weak though :/

What ya got?

AMD Athlon II X4 630 ~2.8 GHz

I recently upgraded my graphics card to : HD Radeon 7850 2GB OC

You'll be more than fine. I will be shocked if Crysis 3 is CPU bound... It's going to be all GPU.

In terms of your CPU, here is a chart showcasing what GPU bound games look like on a range of CPUs. You won't miss a beat with an Athlon X4...

Wouldn't a Crysis 2 chart be more appropriate here?

And the DX11 doesn't seem to like the X6 for some reason

Yeah those look about right, except for the shocing hit AMD processors take under DX9. Besides, they are testing this with a GTX 590 under max settings.

Worst case scenario for someone with an Athlon X4 is that the user may need to lower the detail slightly, which is what they will need to do anyways unless they have a GTX 680 or higher...which is a setup that doesn't make any sense. (Athlon X4 + 680). So I expect an Athlon X4 to still be GPU bound for people with 7850, GTX 660 or lower.

I don't think i can run this one all that well. I have the 9800 GTX+ and i3-530 they just mentioned

Keep in mind Crytek are promising improved path finding, AI, physics, animation system, more dynamic enviroments (grass sways in the wind, improved destruction etc) etc. On top of larger enviroments this will likely mean that C3 will be a bit more demanding on the CPU side.

An X4 should be fine tho especially with a few things turned down a notch or two, and on a lower end GPU as you say.

This is good news...crisis 2 really needed a ultra setting for AI and level design. :)

Who has only 2 gb ram with a 1 gb graphics card
Or only 4 gb ram with a quad core?
Or only 8 gb ram with a 'latest quad core'?

Should be fine, although I doubt I'll be able to shove everything on high:

Core i5 2500K 3.3GHz (no overclock)
8Gb DDR3 RAM
AMD 7870HD 2Gb

Hopefully I can put this on the SSD, but it doesn't have enough room for my Steam folder (those sales completely slaughter my disc space )

Do you have a data drive.

You can just go to steamapps--> common. Cut a game folder and put it in a data drive. When you want to install it just transfer it from your data to solid state drive. And click install in steam. That way you can have all your games, but only the ones you really want to play at the moment on your ssd.

Steam needs to fix this though. Let you choose where to put older games or something on 2  different drives.

Didn't realise that could work, thanks!

It would be nice if you could specify multiple installation locations like you say though.

They added the feature for select games in the latest steam update. Now if you try to install a supported game it will give you the option to chose which drive you want to put it. It's about time they added it, most games should be supported.

yeah they did. I just checked now, Just right click install game and there's an option, for me it's C,Q, or Z since I name my drives nonsensically. From what I can tell it's most every game atleast all the games I checked.

I was skeptical when they said "supported games." However, if you want to transfer games to different drives without redownloading you cut/paste, and select that folder to install too. Haven't tried that though.

Awesome; my 1.5 year old pc meets high performance requirements! Only problem is my 560 Ti; this calls for a reason to upgrade to a 680!

Edit: Saw the 469$ price of a 680. Neeeevermind :(

All of this, of course, is just my opinion.

Skyrim 100%'d. Dark Souls 100%'d.
Dark Souls > Skyrim.
Halo 4 is the best damn FPS since Halo 3.
Proud pre-orderer of 2 PS4's and an Xbox One.

Currently Playing: Dark Souls II, South Park
Playstation 4: MGS V GZ, Killzone: Shadow Fall, NBA 2k14.

I am pretty sure all new releases and the majority of the back catalog is in the new format now. And anything that isn't should be converted soon. The games in the new format should also support differential patching so you shouldn't have to redownload half the game if one small thing was changed in a big data file.

Now they just need to add a more fully featured download manager with scheduling support etc and I will be happy.
