Wii U`s sales are what they are. They sold what they shipped. That`s it.
Doesn`t matter if they are behind Wii`s first (US) week by only this much or by a lot. They sold what they shipped.

What`s really strange and surprising is 3DS' sales. Those are way low compared to last year. Hope they can improve during Christmas or it`s going to make the news and that won`t be good for Nintendo.

the biggest problem with the 3DS is..... the 3d. I know a lot of people worried the 3d can affect their kids eyes, even if I explain them they're safe and only takes a few sessions to get accustomed to it. And as someone else said many people think it's just a DSi with 3D. Not worth the money for them so they buy regular DSi. Too bad for Nintendo because the 3DS is great, but they really dropped the ball here.

I also had a friend return a 3DS because he couldn't handle the 3D. Made him dizzy. I want to recommend him the 3DSXL, but I think he gave up. Or he could just play without the 3D, but maybe he feels it's not worth the money if he can't do the 3D.

What's with all the 3DS doom and gloom? It was a disappointing week, but the console is pretty damn healthy. 22.5 million units in 21 months? One bad week doesn't mean the system is dead.

exactly, why buy the system for the 3D if you get dizzy with it? Even I had a few headaches the first day and took me a few hours to get accostumed. Showing it to friends for just a few minutes was a bad idea as more often than not they didn't like the 3d effect.

Aether way if it sells better on BF chances are it will do even better in xmas

Welp I way overshot the Wii U numbers in the prediction thread. LOL ( I knew I shouldn't have trusted Gamestops qoutes)

Overall not bad numbers just decent for the Wii U first week.

The 3DS on the other hand, Yeesh! Nintendo should have offerred a better bundle and games. Aside from Paper Mario, there really is no new system seller for the 3DS.

The DS is a lot cheaper then the DS and did have better deals on Black Friday, but having your 7 year old handheld outsell your 1.5 year old console is sad Nintendo. I guess the smart phones really will be our supreme overlords for handheld gaming :(
