So much for a next Gen console...

PC-centric developers really have no say here. These people are going to be CPU-reliant. They don't know that physics is mostly off-loaded to the GPU in the new setup, for one. They just don't know. |
Other way round actually PS360 games ported to PC are almost always CPU bound. Anyone used to working on the PS3 especially would be used to offloading a lot of work onto the CPU.
PC first

Console first

There are of course exeptions like The Witcher 2

and genres like sims, strategy, RTS etc. But for FPS and action games a PC first title will usually be GPU bound where as console first games are often CPU bound in terms of performance.

The Wii U supposedly has an Out of Order CPU architecture compared to In-Order of PS3/360 and that would mean a significant effort to recode Metro Last Light specifically for the Wii U. As I said, even with 70 Million Xbox 360 owners, Metro 2033 didn't even sell more than 450,000 copies in 2 years.....ouch!! It's doubtful such a small developer could justify porting Metro Last Light and optimizing for it in such a short time frame before launch early next year. |
Careful. Many of those who have no knowledge of CPU architecture may see "out of order" and think it's a broken CPU.
Are people really still arguing/concerned with cpu speed/power??? Remember Skyrim on the "most powerful system of the 7th gen"? That was a RAM issue I heard. And what about ps3 having graphics way ahead of the 360? Oh dang, $599.00 and the cell doesn't mean a better GPU, bummer.
I buy Nintendo so I can play Nintendo games, not so I can pretend cpu power = high performance games.

A Wii U version isn't financially viable, not only would it cost too much to make, it probably wouldn't sell well. |
Wii U development may be more expensive than Wii, but it's still not "Cell expensive"

Yeah, that's actually the reason why I'm not too worried about the Wii U TBH, I look at it and I'm thinking "kinda like that x2 5000 with a 550Ti that I revived not long ago with like 4GB of DDR2." while some devs are prolly like "well, this is gonna be a bitch to port...." That machine I revived runs Bullet Storm at 1080p 60FPS btw, true story. Thought I'm pretty sure the GPU in the Wii U is not 550 Ti level lol.....

None of the next-gen systems will be "monsters". @bold |
I agree with your first sentence. But I don't think Sony can afford selling a $400 console at a loss (less it's a small one - no higher than $50!). And I also think that the difference between Wii U and PS720 will be that of high end PCs today and PS360; so it won't matter much. It's still the same game.
I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!
Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

But can it run 1080p with 60 frames per sec on 3d while cooking a pop tart like my pc?
