Forums - Nintendo - Wii U froze on me.

Ok pulled out the cord and it turned on fine but now I'm concerned with the fact that the console was only on for 4 hours only 1 of those hours I was actually playing a game and it already froze.

Dont worry. There were lots of complaints Wii U interface is very sluggish. The freezing is just like extreme sluggishness, kinda like if you have tomany tabs open on your computer and it gets locked in infinite load or just freezes

If you've never bought a system at launch before ...

Systems at launch generally have some problems. A good launch will generally have (most of) the problems isolated as software problems that are 'mostly' fixed by patching within a couple of weeks; a bad system launch will have a significant hardware problem that kills systems that isn't resolved for months.

A system freezing is generally not something to worry too much about as long as it doesn't happen regularly. If it is something that is common and/or reproducible contact Nintendo Support.

Things loaded up on the Wii U rather slowly at first, but after using it more, it wasn't going as slow anymore.  Just me?

SEND IT BACK!!

Jokes happens to all consoles! this will probably happen a few more times and they'll fix issues like this through patches, but it does ruin your hype around the console when it happens especially when its brand new.

I actually sent my first Ps3 back because I brought it over to my friends house first and he used it with a HDMI cable (i believe he had from his xbox) and I didn't realize it was for this setting... I went home and hooked it up using the one with the green an blue coposite? component? i forget the difference but got no image... I THOUGHT IT WAS BROKE! I accidently got an extra controller charge cord because i forgot to pack it

I had just finished playing an hour of ZombiU and wanted to checkout Netflix. It updated and then was stuck on the netflix loading screen. I pressed the home button and pressed the button to close the software and now I'm on a white screen. I've tried pressing all the buttons on the game pad to nothing happens. I've even tried pressing the power button on the wii u itself and nothing happens.

I'm terrified that removing the power cord might brick my system so I'm gonna wait an hour to see if it auto shuts off like it's suppose to. If it doesn't I'll pull the cord in a last ditch effort.

Mine froze on me while making a profile name.  I removed the power chord and it was ok.

Did you get a new one? lol very funny story iv had that happen to me a few years ago cause my tv in the lounge wasn't HD but the one in my room was and yeah pretty much the same story but i figured it out instead of taking it back lol

Freezes happen. This is what you get for being an early adopter.

My launch PS3 used to freeze when playing Resistance, and my launch PSP had dead pixels on the screen. I'm never going to be an early adopter again lol.

Mine hasn't arrived yet so I don't know ...

My point was that systems have problems at launch and (if this launch goes smoothly) most of the problems will be solved before people open their Wii U systems for Christmas.

Good sir, you are talking out of your butt. Never experienced any of the problems listed with my DS, GBA, Wii, or GCN. Tis be a recent trend at best because modern devs are lazy and apathetic.
