Forums - Nintendo - I'm Honestly Disappointed in Nintendo

Why should they care? Western consumers are profligate and buy it in the droves when it has so few games, If I was Reggie i'd be laughing all the way to the bank. The 3DS Japanese sales make sense as it has an amazing library over there, the Western sales don't even remotely make sense. So your quarrel should be with the consumer and not Nintendo.

They've been quite disappointed with Western Sales.

And @Dengle

Apart from Kid Icarus and NSMB 2, what did they release? Mario Tennis doesn't count >.<

We've reached a point where a big budget 3DS game is nearing the expenses of console games. It's hard to justify putting the resources into portable games when they don't get nearly the respect or the support. Me? I LOVE Kid Icarus, Resident Evil Revelations, etc. I'll be grabbing Luigi's Mansion, day one. Good games but they just don't do the numbers that Nintendo wants them to do. A big budget Metroid is certainly possible but what's the motivation? People will buy Pokemon with graphics that could be done on a 1991 Snes, instead.

Yeah, I'm still waiting for FIRE EMBLEM to release in the west D:

I don't agree about the lack of 2012 games, it's probably just that you don't care about them. RE: Revelations, Kid Icarus, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, KH 3D, NSMB2, Paper Mario SS...etc - All solid games.

Professor Layton you speak of happened in 2008 too, 4 years after DS launched.

Not denying that the DS had great new innovative Ips (due mostly to the nature of the system), but let's not jump the shark in the comparisons. Comparing 3rd party support of the DS with the 3DS early in the lifetime is painful... for the DS.

I'm hoping that somebody at Nintendo is trying to take advantage of the 3DS's motion controls, AR functionality, and added horsepower. At the same time, with smart phones rising and games that offer a Brain Training/Nintendogs/Layton like experience along with games that utilize the smart phone touch screen in ways that impress me, I just don't know what Nintendo can do. Maybe the Wii U will inspire the 3DS the way the DS inspired the Wii U.

I will buy a big budget 3D Mario, Zelda, Metroid( this one I'd even buy 2D) on the 3DS any day.

I am annoyed with the 3DS in NA too. Even Europe is getting more than us. I think that's a big fail.

What? We are still waiting for Code of Princess, Devil Something Overclocked, Zero Escape, Nano Assault, Harvest Moon: A New Beginning and a bunch of other games.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

But we got all of those games, we just don't know it.

Is Zero Escape officially delayed until January 25th? It was supposed to release today.

Amazon says next week.

Well they're focusing more on the WiiU at the moment but I do agree with you. It's been a while since Ive bought a 3DS game. Ill eventually pick up paper mario though, although I wish they would have had partners instead of stickers personally

I got misled by the project X zone thread. OK, I don't personally like those games, but if NA at least keeps up with EU I retract what I said.

Also, when I go to game stores in my area, I see none of those games, so I might have a limited idea of what's out there.

To NA  shoppers, where do you buy games like Zero Escape?
