All right my 38th is a game that you can argue that it was the last good game in its series. This series used to be very popular but have died after so many terrible games. I kind of feel like I gave it away.

Sonic Adventure?

Hint for 38: Very well received game with a highly controversial sequel. The developer itself has been getting a fair bit of criticism, which I think is undeserved, and the publisher has been getting a great deal of criticism, which is very well deserved.

Mass Effect?

*sniff sniff* Smells like... Dragon Age: Origins.

Don't think anyone guessed this:

39. Age of Mythology & Titans Expansion (PC)

Brilliant Age of Empires gameplay combined with creatures of myth/legend and powers given by the gods themselves. Was also the first 'Age of' game to go 3D. The introduction of set points/settlements to build your town center added a new strategic element that meant you couldn't simply rush your oponent. It worked very well (if a little unbalanced with the Titans expansion) and on occasions I still play 2-player co-op with my girlfriend.

Clue for 38: This game spawned a new gaming icon and has had numerous sequels.

#38 is from a famous, and long running, arcade racing series. It has the same name as an older entry in the same series.

Need for Speed.. not sure which one...

Hot Pursuit?

Sonic Adventure 2 but you were close enough.

39. Guild Wars 2 (2012)

Another newcomer to the list is also the first MMO on it. There were a number of areas that this particular game stood out to me (and not requiring a subscription helps).  For one, I preferred running into other players instead of being annoyed that I did not get to play through the quests as a single player experience.  Other players are usually helpful and almost never prevent you from getting anything.  The exploration was also some of the best I have experienced.  My favorite thing to do in this game was try to figure out how to get to the vistas and complete the various jumping puzzles.  The different stories available also make me want to play with more than one character, which is a rarity.  A lot of the tedium from other similar games is non-existent with how quests are managed and that's a refreshing change of pace.

Primarily an RPG player but have interest in any game that will make me think.

Hint 38th:
- I'll have a number nine, a number nine large, a number six with extra sauce, a number seven, two number forty-fives, one wit' cheese, and a large soda.
