Not denying the fact that Squareenix has lost their touch.

-Making so many damn ports/remakes.
-Two MMORPG games in the same series within a span of 10 years what.
-Killed off Star Ocean, Mana, Valkyrie Profile, Parasite Eve, etc series.
-Sequels of games that are not in high demand l0l
-Announcing a game years ago and still nowhere near release or announcement (FFversusXIII)

I liked FFXIII but I wont disagree with the people saying that SE has lost their touch.

I think the main issue with Square Enix is that they're not listening to their fans

It's tough to read this and look over at the situation with FFXIV how they went over and above to try and improve the game. No one has ever paid any monthly fees for the MMO and now they're remaking the entire game based off fans feedback and playing experiences. How do they not fit that description?

Let's be frank. Has this move really been a mistake ?

The hype is really off the charts and I think people will buy it the second it hits the shelves.

I actually liked the game too but I want SE to take FF back to how it was at least by X as it was an awesome game but still had brilliant graphics for the time!

You know that the same people that wrote and directed X, wrote and directed XIII.

Off the charts? People have almost completely forgotten about the game.

Really ?! Find me a single, A SINGLE Square discussion that Versus doesn't come up at least a hell lot of times.

They also listened to the tiny minority of people who wanted a FFXIII sequel but not a propver VII sequel.  They listen to their fans, they just need to stop listening to the 2% and start listening to the 98%.

Sales indicate that virtually nobody plays FFXIV, yet they choe to invest millions of dollars into fixing that (which is futile and anyone who knows anything about games and MMO's knows it), rather than dedicating time and resources to Final Fantasy vsXIII, XV, or Kingdom Hearts III.

Not sure how futile is it whenever their last MMO made them more money than any game ever before.

And it's not about making XIII-2 vs a proper VII sequel. One of these was far more feasible than the other. VII is not a series that will receive a remake or a true sequel on our set of hardware. It just won't.

No thanks, I'm not going to do that. You said "off the charts" and that's just false. Someone might mention it occasionally, and only in some square threads, but in general I don't see people talk about the game any more.

I, for one, was looking forward to it at one time; The CG that was shown was quite impressive. Now, I've almost forgotten about it. People will probably start talking about it again whenever a release date is set, but atm I don't see many people talking about it at all.

First of all, just make Final Fantasy Online (FFO) and be done with it.  people hate the MMO thing, and XI only worked becuase WoW wasn't the towering behemoth it is now back when it released.

and second of all, the argument still stands and yours still fails.  saying they 'listened to their fans' doesn't count when it's a tiny minority.  If you're cooking for 10, and 9 people say they want lasagna, you don't cook tacos just becuase one dude asked for it.

FF VII has actually been revisited adequately with a well received prequel (crysis core) and a  well received sequel (advent children)

Just because some people are loud on the internet doesn't mean they represent any significant percentage.

Actually WoW is not that strong anymore and the competition is different. Square knows that the mmo market is a little fluid and they do hold the PS3 version of FF XIV in some esteem since they are very careful about its release. Dragon Quest X is not doing badly and the PS3 mmo potential is untapped.

You can't compare a small production like FF XIII-2 to the huge one that would be a VII remake or the one that is Versus.

Yes it's very good..the easy difficulty & story makes it a worse experience than XIII though.

Lightning Returns will be the best.
