They also listened to the tiny minority of people who wanted a FFXIII sequel but not a propver VII sequel.  They listen to their fans, they just need to stop listening to the 2% and start listening to the 98%.

Sales indicate that virtually nobody plays FFXIV, yet they choe to invest millions of dollars into fixing that (which is futile and anyone who knows anything about games and MMO's knows it), rather than dedicating time and resources to Final Fantasy vsXIII, XV, or Kingdom Hearts III.

FF VII has actually been revisited adequately with a well received prequel (crysis core) and a  well received sequel (advent children)

Just because some people are loud on the internet doesn't mean they represent any significant percentage.

Actually WoW is not that strong anymore and the competition is different. Square knows that the mmo market is a little fluid and they do hold the PS3 version of FF XIV in some esteem since they are very careful about its release. Dragon Quest X is not doing badly and the PS3 mmo potential is untapped.

You can't compare a small production like FF XIII-2 to the huge one that would be a VII remake or the one that is Versus.
