I found really strange that your site did not enjoyed the game, you're been big supporters from as far as I remember.

EIther way, I love you guys, your "analysis" videos are some of the best around the internet.

I was as surprised as you were--I really liked what I played at the preview events, but the game really turned for me a few hours in. And thanks for kind words--I really appreciate it!

I think some reviewers agree with you to some extent. It seems as if the plot and sticker system don't quite live up to their potential, and I'd venture to guess that the level design doesn't click for everyone, either.

Nothing I've read so far has turned me off from it though, after weighing the most positive and negative reviews together of course. :)

I want this game to fail.

- Non cohesive world.
- Stale, uninteresting setting.
- Laughable battle system.
- Ridiculous changes made for the worse.
- NO PARTNERS.

What happened with the amazing setting and ideas TTYD had? What happened with the interesting mix of partners and their charming story? More importantly, what happened with Intelligent Systems for God's sake?

Illl try it for myself before killing the devs. , i think thats the least i can do

Indeed. It's always good to see for yourself if the changes are, subjectively, full of crap instead of assuming that they are and potentially missing out on something fun.

Polygon is a fairly new (but great, if you look at the website) gaming blog.

But they gave it a 7.5. So far, they really haven't been easy with the scores. 7.5 is actually what it should mean ... "Average."

I thought the review was actually quite fair. These reviews are really making me miss the early Paper Mario entries, sigh.

The Good
Paper Mario is a charming character in a charming world
Smart, funny writing
Good puzzles
Sticker system makes you carefully consider your attacks.

The Bad
Getting stuck is no fun at all
Combat can seem pointless at times.

Alright, just played for a few hours and started world 2. I love this game. The graphics are fantastic, the 3D is one of the best on the system, the music is god-tier, and the sticker system is deep and engaging to use. Though the NPCs are not as wide spread, the writing is on par with other Paper Mario games.
