Forums - Sales - Assassins Creed 3 Sells 3M 1st Week - 52/48 Split 360/Ps3.

Assassin's Creed III, the latest game in the Assassin's Creed franchise, has set a franchise record selling three million units worldwide in its opening week. This is a 40 percent increase compared to Assassin's Creed: Revelations which held the previous record. Assassin's Creed: Revelations sold 2.15 million units in its opening week, while Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood sold 1.7 million units.

1.45 million of the sales were in the US, while 1.1 million are in Europe. The remaining 0.45 million units are from other regions in. The difference in sales between the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions is next to nothing. The Xbox 360 version had a 52 percent marketshare, while the PlayStation 3 version had a 48 percent marketshare.

As a side note, Assassin's Creed III: Liberation (PSV) sold 100,000 units in its opening week.

Assassin's Creed III was released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on October 30 in North America and October 31 in Europe. The game will launch for the PC on November 20 in North America and November 23 in Europe. The Wii U version will be available on November 18 in North America and November 30 in Europe.

Good start and from what I have played, it deserves it

Liberation is the concern, but I hope that there were a decent number of digital sales and hopefully with a patch, some of the issues can be sorted out and this game can keep selling for a while

Sweet.

100k for the vita version? not bad at all!! where did you get this info from?

Edit : geez i didnt notice the article in the front page lol

Wow...it really shows just how massive Halo 4 is gonna be with 4.4m from only one console! :0

So I guess the exclusive PS3 content sort of did help the PS3 version out.
Also, it's amazing that liberation sold 100K not good, but amazing knowing how much of a slow pace the Vita is selling at.

Guess Sony paying for exclusive content didn't matter to consumers, can the rest of us get that content now

so that means it wasn't above 1 million preorders for 360 alone only at gamestop a month or so ago? because if 360+ps3 sales are at 1.45 million in america it makes no sense that 360 version alone had above 1 million preorders which would mean the 360 version alone should have beaten this number.

I think Ps3 owners buy more AC games than 360 owners wich usually prefer the Cod, Halo type of games.

I have to say, I'm a little shocked that Liberation only did 100k, but I think that might be their marketing people's fault. As much as the game may stand on its own, I'm not entirely sure how many people read enough online and about the game to really know that it's not just a Vita version of AC3. Releasing it at the same time as the 360 and PS3 versions may have made it logistically easier, but not sure if that dented the numbers some.
