Well they delayed Pikmin 3 into the spring, and the only big first-party game from them outside of Nintendo Land and NSMBU, both of which I are think are "meh", is Paper Mario. Generally, handhelds get less press and attention in the US than consoles, so it's not too surprising. 3DS will sell very well this holiday based on the strength of Paper Mario, and the five or six big first-party games that have come out earlier but have never-ending legs.

It's actually rather crazy to thin that a new generation console is about to launch in 2 weeks and there is barely any buzz both online and off about it. Normally this is the time forums get spammed, fanboys stab each other, cars get totaled, buildings get vandalized and so on. But nothing this time and I myself can't find any reason to get excited for Wii U when the 360 is just killing things with such amazing games. I don't even have enough money to buy all the games I want on it this holiday. Heck I'm even more hyped for all the amazing games about to come out for the 3DS in the next few months (FINALLY a pokemon 3DS). Now that's hype.

Apparently not, and what is coming out in the months to follow and what we will see "eventually" is irrelevant, we are talking strictly about launch, it would make more sense for a person to just wait it out for the games they actually want to play and buy the system then IMHO. ANd nothing is gauranted, im still waiting for my Mario Tennis Wii game.

The utterly laughable "hardcore"* don't care because it is beneath their god-like stature to talk about, let alone want, something by those malcontents at Nintendo. Besides, that takes away valuable time from moaning about how the U is another Dreamcast and doomed--DOOMED I SAY!!--to failure....just because, well, it's what the gaming illiterati do.

As far as the wider audience goes, nobody cares because they literally started marketing it *this week*.

Nintendo consoles are more of a holiday phenomenon. I don't think Nintendo consoles ever get "hyped". Wii U is basically an HD Wii with a tablet controller, while 3DS was a DS with 3D.....get the picture? Nintendo may be innovating, but they are not revolutionizing.

Motion Controls? Been there, done that. Old News.
Tablet? You'll have to convince people with this one. Convince them it can be used for "real" games.

I don't know, I'm extremely hyped about it.

Mostly I am looking forward to the Nintendo network. I also want to see if Nintendo discovers a solution for the Gamepad and Virtual console.
