Windows Gaming......isn't that serious dying out? I thought developers were stopping releasing their games on PC's seeing as sales were right down and have been for a while. Also tablet gaming with regards to iOS and Android is a totally different ball game. Yes the small number of games on PC's are generally better quality overall, but they cost considerably more as well.

Streaming, you don't know. That about sums it up.

Streaming video? Some codecs don't work even from sd card. Tversity&co streaming does not play those files either. If you are not going to believe me, I don't care.

You do realize MS Office will be on iOS/Android very soon right? Additionally, GoogleDocs provides all the same functionality and does work fine. But if you're using office software, they you'll likely always want a keyboard as you're doing a lot of inputting of text. That's the only real difference. Its the typing... not either OS.

Windows gaming in terms of core gaming is only better right now... however, if you include OnLive and a bluetooth controller like PS3's then its identical. So you are simply wrong. Additionally, Google and Apple have both either directly stated or had various new patents that show they will be greatly expanding into core gaming with normalized controllers. In 2013 that shift will happen. Its inevitable.

Yes Chrome in Android uses java just fine as well as greasemonkey. A game I was recently playing required it.

Streaming/Video... send a file type or site and I can test. I think you're either uninformed, making it up, or simply using things that are clearly not main stream/common/mass consumer tools.

Are you going to do your work through a phone/tablet? no so its pointless to compare that or tools specific to those fields like programming. You wouldn't do it with a windows based tablet either, you need more robust hardware, kb/ms, etc.

So can I have that now on my ipad or android tablet? No. When can I have it and will it be similar? As I said, you could be just editing your documents. That does not need a lot of typing and uhh, surface pro haz a keyboardz verzion, no?

Most of those videos are a) too big to send or b) not for your eyes. For streams, you can go to a wiziwig site. Google it, I am not going to give a link because I am not sure if that is against the rules.

NOW you can have Google Docs which does fully edit and save back as any MsOffice item. You can also have bluetooth and dock keyboards. MSOffice on Android comes in November "early 2013" I believe.

Onlive is there now on android with PS3/Wii/or360 controls as options. Sure Steam and PC games are not, but they won't work on the Surface RT either... and honestly, many PC games won't run well on Pro based on those specs either. Any PC gamer wouldn't even consider it.

So the videos are illegal non-mass market stuff and therefore irrelevant. I use it for pron and tons of other videos all the time. You're just nitpicking a niche market. However, I'll google it when not at work and try anyways. I'm betting it will work fine as the Chrome browser on Android has yet to let me down on anything.

Surface Pro is intended to be a laptop/hybrid device. Its also going to be $800 to $1000. I'm considering a $400 tablet. Completely different. Pro wasn't even part of this thread originally and only brought in as one person kept saying to compare it. So I did, and aside from legacy PC software, Nexus10 blows it away as it does the rest especially after considering its at least 1/2 the price and probably more.

If I was going to consider a $800-$1000 laptop, then yes I'd look at Pro as well as many of the other hybrid style laptops shown off just a few days ago. For my needs I'm actually considering the $250 Chromebook just announced with identical specs as the Nexus10. Just hit the Chrome Web store to see what all it can or cannot do.

However, Like to point out that this again is a lesser used item. Facts are you a more technical based person who utilizes stuff the mainstream don't. But bold statements like the first one I quoted are entirely wrong in a purely general sense.

(I used it for a stupid game... must of been on PC, but I also played the game on my phone all the time, Iguess just without the script addon)

People have been saying that since before I can remember. What developers have actually stopped releasing games on PC? All the big (not first party obviously) releases come out on PC/Windows and that's not including the ridiculous number of indie titles.

Google docs isn't as good as ms office. I am no expert with it, but when I have edited my office documents with it, it has messed them up. Also it did not have all the functions which ms office has. Just carbage compared to ms office.

Hi, I am a pc gamer and I am considering it. Your logic fails.

Of course I am nitpicking, as I said all the videos don't work. In fact I said  "there are always some lame codec which won't work on any player or it works with software decoding and is choppy as hell". Now you are talking about mass market stuff, which proves my point. Carbage, can't play all the videos.

Do that, test the streams and tell me did you get all of them working. I'll be waiting.

Yes, surface pro is just that. Complete package, unlike other tablets on this thread.

I did notice that and will be trying it out. I also sent you a pm about a web page with java applet which I really would like to see working on android.

I don't know why you're making this comparison. The Surface Pro isn't really comparable as it effectively is a laptop with a touchscreen. It has a laptops specs, laptop OS and importantly, a laptops price! They're different tools for different situations and market segments.
